12 oz bottle pours a mostly clear gold color with a small white head. Not enough retention or haze for a 'typical' farmhouse brew.
Nose is honeyed grains with a grassy hop aroma. A fair amount of yeast presence surprisingly…a little tart and lemony with some sourdough. Nice.
Taste throws out more of the lemongrass yeast with a neutral, biscuity malt. Hops make their presence felt and crisp up the finish nicely. While this isnt going to compete with a fresh Saison DuPont or the like, it is not priced as such either. For about a buck a bottle, I think this is a very welcome addition to the fridge. I'll easily go through the 12-pack I purchased and most likely will buy another. Well done Spoetzl...well done.

pours out a dirty gold colour with a foamy and ample egg shell white head. some spotty and clingy lace. tart aroma with spicy sidekicks. green apples, pears and yeast pair nicely with some peppery and wheaty spice. taste profile has some yeasty phenols about, throwing down a bit of alcohol spice, apple skins, pears, apricots and wheat. malt bill is lacking somewhat...some residual sweetness but really a non-factor. finishes on the dry side with lingering hop bitterness that plays patty cake with the spice and yeast profile. true to Shiner fashion, this lacks umph in the body with a semi-creamy mouthfeel that also falls short in comparison to true to style saisons. drinkability is easy enough..it slakes the thirst and provides some character...just enough to grab another.
overall my impressions are that this is another typical Shiner take on style that dumbs down the process and is angled at the crossover crowd. that being said, this does have enough going on to be a lawn mower beer and i might revisit this at the right price.

A clouded dark yellow just shy of amber, this beer barely raises up half a finger of head. Retention is average, and the thin foam of head that still sits on top is just able to leave light spotty lacing on the glass.
The nose is mostly green apple skins under a wheat-like malts base and some spiciness.
A bit more yeastiness comes out on the tongue, and it's slightly earthier, but otherwise there's not much difference from the nose.
The body is light, almost medium. Carbonation is a little too high, and crispness is a little too hard, but it does even out some as it sits.

12 oz. bottle poured into pint glass.
A: Poured a clear golden color with a small 1/2 fingers worth of head that dissipates pretty quickly leaving very little lacing. Lots of visible carbonation.
S: I'm getting a little grass, some floral hops with a touch of fruitiness. Smells quite inviting.
T: Taste ending up having a little more grassy-earthy hops than floral, but the fruitiness is right up front straight to the finish.
M: Crisp, pretty strong carbonation at first, but falls off as the beer warms up. Pretty light for the style.
O: Not a bad little beer from Shiners, again another great effort. Good flavors, good ABV, not a bad session beer... Worth looking for.

Looks nice enough in the Duvel tulip, but it would be beter suited to a red Solo cup. The aroma is not bad, it's just anemic. A little plastic hint. Faintly sourish and somewhat sharp. Overall, it tastes like weak iced tea with that tannic flavor.
I can't taste anything that would indicate Belgian yeast was involved in this. It's more of a diluted malt liquor flavor. Spoetzl makes some decent lagers, but this is not one of them. Bought at Texas Wine in Fredericksburg in the 12 oz bottle.
