Let me just say its been 10 years since Ive had this beer. I remember it tasting like f'ed up shit. Of course this is before I learned about better beer and appreciated many different styles.
Appearance - very clean, ligth copper yellowish look. very well carbonated , but not alot of head.
nose - grassy, earthy malts. A little bit of a twang cannot pin it down.
Taste - Very descent for a larger if it is that. Sorry left my reading glasses at work and cannot read the bottle. There is something there that I got in the nose its a nice change from the norm. I am thinking its a unique hop that I have not experienced alot of. Still cannot place it.
Thoughts - This beer is one of my favs from shiner. I hope they re-release this as a seasonal in sixer. I like it. Alot. its not an A beer but a solid B beer. I do not care what you think, this is certainly a nice brew. ` If the rep for shiner reads this, RELEASE IT IN SIXERS!

Poured a light brassy hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was decent retention and lacing.
The smell featured a soft caramel with a grassy hop.
The flavor was very well balanced with round caramel malts and a clean herbal hop.
The mouthfeel was of average fullness with a dry finish.
Overall a tasty well balanced ale.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass.
A: Pours a crystal-clear amber color. The head is one and a half fingers high, shaded white, and it doesn't feature the best retention or texturing. However, it does leave a minor ring of lacing on the glass.
S: There is a noticeable hoppiness to the aroma here - certainly nothing that would give Stone any fits, but enough to give me some hope. This helps provide a touch of citrus and pine. However, there's little else aside from a touch of mineral water.
T: I've been waiting for something from Shiner to give me anything in terms of hops, and this provides it, albeit in a light manner. Luckily, the slight citrusy/piny tones are welcome here. There's something else here I'm not a fan of - I can't put my finger on it, perhaps a metallic note on the back end - so I can't call this one 'great' by any stretch.
M: Sampling this Shiner Family Reunion 6-pack, I've notice several trends in all of their brews: most are fairly clean, crisp, and light, but also too sweet on the back end, partly due to a slight lack of carbonation. This doesn't suffer from the latter qualities like the others have, thankfully. It's a bit drier and more assertively carbonated.
O: I'm a little let down, because while it succeeds where other Shiner beers failed (such as providing something resembling hoppiness), I can't put my finger on why I'm not a huge fan of this - maybe it's not that fresh? Ah well. Tickers gonna tick, bro.
