A: Clear brownish red, auburn, with a cream colored head that lingers around the glass after a solid 3 finger head dissipated rather quickly.
S: Munich and caramel malts, with notes of dark whole wheat bread.
T:First notes of cinnamon, candied sugars and coriander. Secondary flavors of Munich malts, bittersweet chocolate, and plum. Dry finish with no discernible hop flavoring.
M: For a dunkel, it's light and airy with moderate carbonation, little bitterness, and a semi sweet bite. No alcohol ethers present.
O: A solid example of a dunkle. Very representative of German beer in general. It seems like a great Oktoberfest beer, to be drunk in the outskirts of a 18th century German brew town, overlooking a field of two row barley, in some September afternoon, with friends.

Poured from 1 pt., 9 oz. bottle to a tulip. Bottled on 10/30/2012.
A: Very cloudy siena with grapefruit hues. Nice, tan head.
S: Wheat, malt, banana, clove, brown sugar.
T: Wheat, burnt sugar, malt, banana, vanilla, slight clove.
M: Medium-bodied and crisp with a sharp drying of the tongue at the finish.
O: A very enjoyable beer. Only the second dunkel I believe I've had, I feel this is a good bar to set as a guideline for the style.

Appearance: This pours a cloudy, dark brown color. It has an off-white puffy head that’s about two fingers thick. It has a slight lacing but it disappears quickly.
Smell: This has a slight banana smell to it. I also get a light hint of caramel.
Taste: The taste is similar to the smell. I definitely taste the banana. Along with that, I’m getting a nice nutty and bready taste to it.
Mouthfeel: It feels good. Smooth taste with a light to medium body and sharp carbonation. Maybe a little too much; But it’s still good.
Overall: Overall, this was a good beer. Definitely what I expected from a wheat beer.
But with more of a banana feel to it. And it leaves a nice smooth wheat aftertaste.
