Brilliant light brown pour under a thin cream colored head that quickly recedes to a thin film. Dark bread aromas, meloindins, some malt sweetness but no roast malt aromas, very smooth, medium body, medium low carbonation, there are dark meloidin flavors but they are not dark sugars and are not roast or dark malts.

Medium brown color with a small head and lace.
aroma caramel hints with grains, malts and grapes.
Taste of light malts, grape and fruit.
The feel has a high carbonation with a medium body.
This to me is a B- or C+ beer.

somewhat dark brown in pint glass, decent aroma medium lite carbonation. I'm sure I first tried this in Germany, does spaten brew in in USA or Canada as well? Just seemed a bit more "Americanized" with this recent tasting, sweeter than i remembered, not bad, just sweeter and seemed a tad more roasty than what i had in Germany. Not as true to style but again that first try was a decade ago. medium mouth feel with no lingering aftertaste,, at least not in a bad way. Lots of bready notes, very slight dried fruit. Overall made me realize I miss this stlye and must try more brands... then brew my own. Nice!

Copper clear, ivory huge frothy foam. Big bubbles. Leaving a good lacing. Medium-low malty notes. Bread.
Low-hoppy bitterness, medium malty sweetness. Chewy, bready flavor. Soft carbonation, medium-low body, light dry finish.

Deep chestnut with leggy tan head. 4
Raisin bread + plum skin - tart. 3.75
Pretzel crust, hazelnut skin, some carob and syrupy end. 3.75
Round, almost medium, chewy. 4

The brown notes are there, but there's also that sour-sticky malt thing. I've had better Melanoidin richness from some alts. Underachieves a bit. 3.75

One of the double-plus benefits of living at Chez Woody is the six-pack bottle shop out my back door & across a short parking lot. I like to go in & browse, shoot the breeze with my neighbors & generally keep my hand in. Occasionally, something will just jump out at me, like tonight, when I spied a rack (sixer) of these sitting on the room temperature shelf. My neighbor was equally baffled and discounted the price since they were not cold. I love my house, my neighborhood & my neighbors!

From the bottle: "Brewed in Munich Germany since 1397".

Once the cap was Pop!ped, I employed an aggro pour that produced a finger-plus of rich, thick, deep-tan/light-brown head with good retention. Color was Brown to Dark Brown (SRM = > 22, < 27) with NE-quality clarity. Nose had a treacle-like sweetness and it reminded me, just as Cuz Colby did last night, that I really need to read my copy of "Malt". Is this melanoidin? I don't know, but I am interested. Mouthfeel was medium. The taste was nutty, bready, treacle-like and very drinkable. The finish was semi-sweet, making it all the more enjoyable. I can go for years without sweet stuff and this was only slightly sweet, just enough to be enjoyable without doing me in. I am gifting the remaining five to my tasting club tomorrow, so it will be interesting to see what they think.
