12 ounce bottle into a pint glass
A - After pouring steadily into the glass a furious head quickly rose and forced me to halt the pouring so it wouldn't roll over the glass. After getting the rest of the beer into the glass the white head was about two fingers thick. The body is nice golden, straw colored with a lot of carbonation racing up to the top of the beer. The beer is not as hazy as I was expecting but aside from that it looks fantastic. The head fades to a nice lace after five minutes.
S - Lots of wheat up front as one would expect. Like any good hefeweizen there is lots of clove, coriander, and banana deliciousness smacking you right in the nose. I'm trying to separate this from some of the other hefeweizens I have had (particularly New Glarus' Dancing Man Wheat), Citrus notes are also there but things are a little more subdued than an exceptional hefeweizen.
T - Much like the smell. Plenty of wheat, clove, bananas and a nice citrus note (lemon) that provides a nice balance between the wheat and banana aspect. All the characteristics are there but they are not as pronounced as the truly great hefeweizens.
M - Light to medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation. Wheat along with the clove and bananas up front. A good amount of carbonation brings things together nicely as a nice citrus zest closes the beer out rather smooth but with an excessive amount of carbonation. I would like to see the characteristics of this beer turned up a bit and the carbonation turned down. Still pretty solid.
D - Trying to keep the style in perspective, because this is my favorite style and I could easily give most hefe's a 5.0 here, I would say there are a couple of things that could be improved with this beer. Overall though, this a pretty solid hefeweizen that I would love to have again if given the opportunity.

A: Hazy straw yellow with dust at the bottom. Massive head and plenty of visible carbonation.
S: Aroma of pale wheat malt , coriander / belgian wit yeast strain.
T: a great Hefeweizen that will please for years to come. One of the originals and classics and not to be messed with. Spatens shining crown in my opinion. Bubblegum, wheat, blueberry hints and doughy yeasty esters that make this a super complex beer at 5%. Highly drinkable. What is not to like?
M: Medium body for a hefeweizen and highly carbonated.
O: Again, a classic I have had many times and will have again. Easily drinkable. A perfect summer or springtime weather beer that will not be offensive to your friends who may not be huge beer drinkers. If you havent had this, you clearly should visit your beer roots. I like my hefeweizens a little thicker, but this is hardly a fault of this beer. It has been around for ages.
