First before anything else the selection should be discussed. Caspian does not have ANY US beers. Don't go there looking for anything from local breweries or even items from the UK or Germany. What you will find is Polish, Russian, Czech, and other oddities. While most places have a few bottles of Okocim Porter, Caspian had cases of it and the other items in the Okocim line. Of course Baltika is represented, but so are dozens of beers that I could not even begin to pronounce. They mostly seemed to be lagers with few ales and not too many dark offerings outside of Baltic Porters. However the selection gets a 3.5 since it is certainly above average and quite large.
Now as to where it is located. Just North of the Beltline off Capital on Brentwood. Brentwood has a Beltline exit, if you take that route it will be on the left after you cross Capital Boulevard. If you are coming North on Capital, take a left on Brentwood and Caspian will be on the left. Really easy to find and mostly overlooked the place is stacked to the gills with International offerings and goodies. The clerk was very helpful and could have been the owner. He said he knew a little about most of the products in the store and that he was born in Iran.
The quality was just average. Beers were stacked in the aisles, some near the register, some on a shelving unit and others in a cold case. Not everything is available as a single bottle purchase, but 80+% of the beers were available that way so you can purchase just one or two till you find out if the beer is to your liking.
I'll go back here, mainly to work my way through all the beers I cannot pronounce. If you drop in, try and get some of the fresh (not prepackaged) Halva...it looks like pate and tastes like heaven and goes great with beer!
