Beer #47 in my great Utah Brew Hunt.

So this is a limited release that is a wet hopped version of Wyld available at the brewery and a few other locations throughout SLC.

The beer is quite smooth, with noticeable hints of hop oils and resin; clearly influence from the wet hops. Flavor is smooth with a minimal bitterness that really fits to the style. This is purely a pale ale. There is no mistaking it for an IPA, out of some misguided brewer's exuberance to try and prove something. This is a well made beer that fits to style quite well and utilizes the wet hops to its benefit. Glad to have a chance to try it.

I tried this at The Beerhive several days later and liked it even more. Gotta love wet hopped beers. Gimme, gimme more.

Beer review from 11/21/12, on tap at the Lark in East Northport, NY: pours clear gold color with a 1 finger creamy off white head that faded slowly, leaving decent lacing and rings as it went down.

Smells of pungent floral hops, grapefruit, citrus hops, sweet malt, caramel, grains and light herbs; a nice soft nose that's hoppy and well balanced.

Tastes buttery and sweet up front, with citrus rind, lemon zest, grapefruit, floral hops, citrus hops, malt, caramel, roasted grains, biscuit, spices like pepper and coriander, and light herbs; some yeast or cardboard-like flavor is evident as it trails off dry and on the clean side with a slight bitter hop bite.

Mouthfeel is light and crisp, with a very light body, mild carbonation and a clean refreshing finish with a herbal hop lingering taste.

A very easy drinking session beer that flowed smooth and almost like water. It was too easy to drink and the low ABV makes it simple to put down quite a few in a sitting. Case in point, I had 4 the evening of the review and they all went down smooth.

On draft at The Lark, East Northport, NY.

Poured a light copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a medley if piney and tropical fruit like hops atop a light pale malt.

The taste consisted of a light found pale malt with a suprisingly reserved citrus hop.

The mouthfeel was toward the lighter side of the style.

Overall a tasty, quaffable dry hopped ale.

On-tap at Pony Bar Upper East Side, New York, NY

A: The beer is crystal clear golden yellow in color and has no visible carbonation. It poured with a thin white head that died down and left a thick ring of bubbles around the side of the glass and some lacing down the edges.
S: There are moderately strong aromas of citrusy hops in the nose.
T: The taste is very similar to the smell and has flavors of citrusy hops-oranges seem to stand out in particular.
M: It feels medium-bodied and very smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very well balanced, easy to drink and is packed with lots of hop flavors without having bitterness.

First had: on tap at Capone's, Norristown, PA

Served in a shaker, a mostly-clear amber color with a small white head that retained well and coated the glass with lacing. Nice aroma, fresh hops, citrus zest and pine needles, sweet malts in the background. Nice taste as well, nothing mind- blowing, but for a 4%ABV beer, there's nothing to complain about here: citrus zest, pine, mellow bitterness, overlaid on a sweet malt base. Light-medium body, went down smooth and easy. Tasty and sessionable.
