Interesting label. Basic beer inside. It's a pretty decent, drinkable APA though. It's darker than you might expect though with a hazy deep amber that borders on copper. Oddly, I don't find a lot of caramel in the flavor; although it is nicely biscuity. The head retention is good too, and it leaves sticky rings of lace about the glass. Nice appearance. Soft, citrusy hops greet you in the nose, and they carry through into the flavor. It's nicely balanced with citrus up front and delicately caramelish and biscuity malt in the back. Moderately bitter. It lingers nicely on the palate in the finish. Very drinkable. AND, it's organic. I don't think it will turn the heads of any beer geeks, but it's a really good cross-over beer for the uninitiated.

Poured this brew into a hefe glass.

The brew pours a nice deep orange, nice chunky head that settles nicely into a island of a head. Some nice sticky lacing.

The brew smells of hops, floral smells.

The brew tastes of hops - not as much as I would like. Too light on the hop taste - no real bite. I expected more per the smell. Can taste the floral backdrop in the tastes.

The brew is drinkable, a little light for me in the hops department; almost like a hop brew for novice hop drinkers. Slightly bitter aftertaste.

Picked up a sixer at Smith's in Vernal, for $9. A little steep if you ask me...no biases going in though.

12 oz stubby.

A: Pale gold/orange color, excellent clarity, about half an inch worth of dense, rocky, white foam. Tons of carbonation floating around in this one. Big gobs of sticky lacing. Excellent.

S: Interesting things going on here, a little pale malt, a few hops, slightly minerally as well. Really light all the way around though. Not a whole lot going on.

T: Light pale malt, a hint of sweetness as well, a little kick of bitter bite at the end, not a whole lot going on. Not offensive, just not a whole lot going on here.

M: Thin and crisp, nice carbonation, slightly dry in the mouth as well. Begs for another sip.

D: Very easy, while not being hugely flavorful, or strong by any means, it does have some nice flavors. Really easy to drink, and makes for a good summer session. I might snag this one again. Not too shabby.

Pours a slight hazy golden yellow color, nice carbonation, nice little white head, with some sticky lacing left behind. The nose is mostly hoppy, some nice malts thrown in, some spices, and some caramel. The taste is mostly hoppy, with some spices, and caramel. The finish is dry, with a nice bitter hop. Light-Medium body. Drinkable, a nice summer brew.

Presentation: 12 oz short bottle, orange label with a tribal looking log and a USDA Organic logo. Bottled on date is clearly marked, but I don't see an ABV.

Appearance: Clear golden color, nice white head that fades slowly leaving some lacing as it goes.

Smell: Grassy hops, bready malt. Fairly typical APA aromas.

Taste: Hmm - thin, not much flavor .. tastes a bit like a watered down SNPA.

Overall impression: Seems like a lot of organic beers end up tasting thin and watered down - why would that be? This one doesn't have anything blatantly wrong with it, but there certainly isn't much to bring me back either.

Had this at the Brickskellar in Wash. DC.

Poured a nice golden color, slightly cloudy with a lacey head.

The nose has nice tones of sweet citrus hops with a nice tint of caramel malts. This translated well to the taste as the the hops were nice and complex on the tongue. Just enough sweetness to wake up the old taste buds. The beer finished dry and crisp with a nice bready quality derived from the malt.

Mouthfeel was good, the hops were in balance, leaving a nice grassy finish on the tongue with only a slight ascerbic bite. This is a very drinkable beer that wass a nice complement to my meal. This will make an excellent late spring beer.

On tap at The Blind Tiger, NYC.

Poured a medium copper hue with a one finger foamy white head. There was good retention and lacing.

The smell featured a fruity sweet orange hop with a light caramel malt.

The taste consisted of vibtant upfront orange and citrus hop that evolved into a dry grapefruit-like hop. There was a good malt backbone with a doughy finish.

The mouthfeel was of average fullness for the style.

Overall a tasty, fruity and very easy to drink ale.

Appearance: Pours a clear, yellow-orange body with a thin ring of bubbles on top.

Smell: Citrus scent steps aside as some watered down malts shamble by.

Taste: Thin, vapid maltiness and no apparent sweetness. Citrusy hops and an accompanying grapefruit taste along with a medium bitterness. Lacks that malt backbone all the way to the finish that can't come a moment too soon.

Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.

Drinkability: Average at best. This one definitely won't be catching on like wildfire.

From a brown 12 ounce bottle - Pours a slightly cloudy orange/yellow color. Smells sweet and hoppy. Below average carbonation. First sip is all grassy hops but is certainly missing a needed stronger malt backbone. Reminds me of terrapin's hop shortage ale.

12 oz. bottle.

Clear golden orange body with yellower edges. Solid finger of thick, lacy, off-white head. Big fresh hop nose with notes of pine, citrus, and pineapple, all backed by sweet, fruity malt aromas. As expected, big hop flavors up front. Very vegetal and green with some pine and resin as well. Biscuit and light fruit malt backing, but are somewhat dominated by the hops. Resinous (cannabis-like) finish with a little aspirin and pine bitterness. Moderate body with a lively feel. Goes down pretty easily and makes a nice session beer.

I poured this strange beer into my waiting tumbler at 50 degrees. The beer was a cloudy beer for a pale ale. The head almost immediatly fell away and disapeared forever. I thought the beer wasnot very good and tasted bad or maybe it was just a bad batch, The date was still good but I just did not like it. I will not buy again.

Single, short, stout, twelve-ounce bottle just purchased from Gary's in Madison...
"USDA Organic" on the orange, front logo sticker...
Appearance: Medium-copper, light-bronze, hue... Minimal head... Minor lacing...
Smell: Mild, slightly hoppy aroma with nuances of lemon zest...
Taste: Despite the low ABV, there was abundant taste in this dry-hopped, organic pale ale... Hints of fresh mint, bittersweet grapefruit, lemons, limes, and a hoppy finish make this an easily drinkable, very enjoyable beer...
Light-to-medium-bodied mouthfeel...
Ultra-easy drinkability...
Good stuff...

12oz bottle

Pours a transparent orange brown color with a small white head leaving perfect rings of lacing. Good fresh hoppy nose. Zingy, peppery hop blasts initially with a good solid malt presence, citrus notes round everything out. Very simple, but clean and very well executed. A bit weak on initial body but the mouth feel is coating and the aftertaste is long and hoppy. Definitely a quality beer and probably the best organic ive ever had. Great drinkability, i would recommend to pale ale fans (Extra Pale Ale is a bit much of a stretch, its not extreme by any measure, and at 4%...yea...dont get your hopes up for a monster here), and those who are into the organic thing.

Bottled on 5/29/08. Poured into my Carlsberg pint glass.

A: I got a small, whitish head, but it looks sticky and that it might leave some nice lacing. Very active carbonation shows itself off through the clear deep gold color. The small head has a lot of staying power, and amazingly leaves lace down the side of the glass till the last drop.

S: Mostly hops up front of the Cascade variety. Beautiful floral hop smell. It smells just like a standard good pale ale. The aroma promises some hop bitterness up front supported by a decent malt backbone.

T: The taste was as expected...I got hop flavor with a little candy sugar sweetness in the aftertaste. Not complex like some of my more favorite pale ales. The flavor was more lacking in the malt department. This was not a bitter pale ale either. The hop bitterness id extremely subdued and it almost tastes watered down.

M: Medium to light bodied. Very soft and crisp carbonation. It does not leave much of an impression on the mouthfeel, which helps out the drinkability rating.

D: Excellent. Tasty and delicious. Wonderful bouquet and smooth mouthfeel make this pale ale exceptionallt easy to drink. Not filling in any way and I could easily finish off a few.

Average-size head for the style, foamy and bone white, with a ton of stickage on the glass as the head thins to a skim. Color can be called nothing but true gold.

Snappy, fruity hoppiness in the aroma, clean and simple, with some brown sugar and green apple emanating through the hops.

Hops reign in the flavor...it's a 4% pale ale that tastes a little bigger, and is certainly bitter enough to be a hophead's go-to session beer. A little apple, a little burnt sugar and a touch of cinnamon give it necessary depth, though that's not to say it's complex at all.

While generously carbonated, it's not overwhelmingly so, though it feels watery, like the malt's not keeping up its end of the bargain. Only real pitfall of this beer.

Overall this is very reminiscent of Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, with a more exotic yet subtle spiciness. Maybe one day Utah can pull itself out of the dark ages and allow their brewers freedom to brew whatever they like in the land of the free. Until then, this shows that Utah natives wanting quality aren't completely out of luck.

A: Pours a light bright golden hue. There is a 1/4 inch head that exhibits okay retention. No lace.

S: Nice light citrus hoppy aroma with hints of earthy grass. Hints of light malt hide beneath. Overall mild aroma.

T: Light in flavor as well. There is a nice light hoppy flavor with the grass and citrus coming thru. Toasty malt as well.

M: Very thin yet sparkling.

D: Pretty darn drinkable.

Lighter than your average pale ale, hence the "extra pale" label. A golden color with a white fluffy head. Mild hop aroma of citrus/pine. Very mild but balanced flavor of light malts and hops. Nothing offensive or uneven in the flavors, but nothing distinct or substantial either. Light body with a mildly hoppy finish. Session beer or not, this lacks character or depth. An English bitter would at least have some biscuit or caramel quality to it, so the comparison to it based on gravity is not quite apt. I cannot recommend this even as a mild session ale. It's more like the Busch of the craft-brew world, except that it aint cheap. Without altering the specific gravity I would like to see the grain bill tooled with a bit in favor of some specialty malts, or perhaps use a little dry-hopping with some earthy Kent Goldings, or both.

A: The lighter golden color surprised me for sure. Nice fluffy head that left some decent lacing.

S: Decent amount of floral and citrus hops followed by some sweet malty goodness.

T: The citrus hops are nice and carry all the way through the entirety of this brew. Followed by some soft malts and a crisp bready characteristic.

M: Simple to drink, light-medium body.

Notes: I love utah beers mainly because of their easy drinking ability. Session brews all the way!

Poured a light-amber to yellow color with an off-white head that quickly dissipated to leave a decent lacing on top and on the sides.

Very earthy scent. Hops of course, some pine is coming through. Maybe a slight malt sweetness as well.

Very refreshing and clean taste. Much more enjoyable than the aroma left me expecting it would be. The malt comes through in the middle and into the finish while the hops are subtle and present the entire way through. Their citrus character is noticeable more in the taste than it was to me in the smell.

Mouthfeel is light and smooth and goes down very smooth. Finishes incredibly clean. The drinkability because of this is imo very high. This would be a great beer to reach for when you want something refreshing and full tasting.

Small capped bottle poured into a pint.

Clear light golden, with a nice well retained white head.
Piney and citrusy aroma, with some biscuity malt. Medium bodied, bitter but not overly bitter, it shows a well balanced interplay of citrusy and piney hops with bready maltiness.
Easy to drink, well balanced, went well with midly spicy asian food.

Overall this one was not that impressive, I found it to be a little bitter, I had this one with spaghetti, while at Solitude ski resort, I was not that impressed. I found it to have a kind of pear flavor to it. I should have stuck with the heiniken instead.

Four + Brewing Co.- Wild Fire

Thanks to Wasatch for this 1.

A- Orange/ copper brown with a small 2 ring lacing head.
S- Light sweet caramel malt with a touch of fruit and hops.
T- Caramel malt with a dose of lemon, grapefruit, and orange. A touch of hop pellets in the end.
M- Sweet and crisp with a oily hop finish.

Overall- Crisp and thirst quenching. Too easy to drink.

Pours a clear golden color with a small white head that thins. Thick lacing on the glass.

Aroma is really fresh and crisp with dominant hop aroma. Has both notes of citrus and pine and is really well blended to create a fantastic smell. A hint of malt even sneaks in here and there.

Crisp malt taste immediately upfront followed by a wave of delicious hop flavor - just as it smells. An aggressive bitterness hits midway and rides through the finish as it finishes quite dry with a lingering hop flavor. Manages to maintain balance.

Medium-light body, creamy texture, well carbonated.

Wow, this is one impressive brew. I could easily drink this all day long, and at 4% ABV, it's completely possible. I am very pleased I had the opportunity to try this.

Acquired via trade from Wasatch, so a big “Thank you” goes out to him. Poured from a 12oz. bottle into a US tumbler pint glass.

A: The beer is a light gold brown color with a thin white head that fades quickly and leaves a thick lace on the glass.

S: The aroma has an intense burst of floral hops along with some citrus and caramelized malt.

T: The just like the smell, the taste starts out with a strong but pale hops bitterness, thus justifying the fact that “Extra Pale Ale” is printed on the label. The malt character is on the light side and there’s a little bit of citrus sweetness in there. However, the most surprising thing about the taste of this beer is that it didn’t have the same nasty bite that most organic beer that I’ve tried have. I’m guessing the hops intensity is what covers it, but it works. The after-taste is bitter and slightly bready.

M: Smooth and very crisp, light-to-medium body, medium-to-heavy carbonation, clean and dry finish.

D: Tasty, goes down easy, not very filling, very good representation of style, it’s a good beer to drink for the duration of an evening, especially if you want a beer with a lighter kick but a whole lot of flavor and I guess it works if you’re into the organic thing too.
