Pours a dark burnt caramel amber with a moderate head that recedes to a moderate (yet lively!) film. The bottle indicates that this is a single-batch conflagration of english, american, and belgian style pales - and this baby looks the part! The coloring is multi-dimensional and multi-layered. Smells of burnt molasses caramel apple fruit. Taste is malty bourbon roasted molasses nut. Moderate, crisp mouthfeel with medium carbonation. But oh! it burns! I wonder what the ABV is on this sucker? 8.5%?! Of course this is evident, but not overwhelmingly so. Is this sessionable? A stretch, but I do thoroughly enjoy where we are going with this! A valiant attempt at greatness, I appreciate such creativeness! I will try additional products from this brewery (despite being a product of the evil Sconnies)

Pours a deeo amber with a half finger of a off white head, can not see a thing through it.

Smell is earthy hops, caramel, toffee, deep fruits and a hint of bubblegum.

Taste is piney, earthy and minty in the hop area. Then comes a belgian like barleywine flavor with dark fruits and yeasty esters playing off each other.

Mouthfeel is medium with biting carbonation.

I am not sure what style this is, it is not a belgian IPA that is for sure, but looking at the other styles I guess that is the closest style to what is in the bottle.

This is one unique beer that is for sure, a whole lot going on. Give it a shot, but make sure to have an open mind when going into it.

Pours a HUGE head that is thick and resiny, but not all too persistent. An interesting aroma; floral hops and malt, and an almost....bubblegum note in the background. A soft combination of pine, flowers, and bubblegum. Amber-straw color. Starts off...weird. It's like a warm boozey, bitter flavor, with a flash of floral hops, that moves into an even more bitter pine-grapefruit flavor, as the booziness hits. The finish retains that citrus rind hop bitterness, but the malt really starts to come through a little more, cutting the bitterness and letting a more citrusy pine hop flavor waft.

This is very interesting. It's not my favorite, but it's not terrible. I applaud trying to blend so many styles, but it feels mostly like a mix of hops. I do appreciate how I get floral hops, pine hops, and grapefruit notes. But, the overall bitterness is a bit too unpleasant to allow me to really enjoy these hops. I was expecting to see more in the way of malt/yeast excitement.

12oz bottle into a Duvel tulip. This one's at least a year old at this point.

A: Hazy reddish-amber body with a generous inch of creamy off-white head. Good retention, sticky lace. Solid.

S: Rich and intense mix of fruity yeast and sweet, complex maltiness. Candied apricot, caramel apple, and pure toffee. Quite nice.

T: Follows the nose - Belgian Pale Ale meets English Barleywine. Rich toffee malts and fruity esters. Long, bittersweet finish. Tasty.

M: Medium body, lively carbonation. Creamy and rich.

O: Really interesting, tasty brew. A pleasant surprise from the cellar.

Cheers!

It doesn't really matter so much to me anymore, but I feel compelled to comment about it this time: the color of this one is what I consider unusual for the style. Perfectly clear and nearly brown. Nose is the typical Belgian tone with some spice from hops to it. Flavor is along those same lines: standard Belgian fare. An minimal Earthy tone gives way to a spicy and slightly hot character that stays constant. Mild tang. This is a good Belgian ale. No severe complexity, but there is an excellent and consistent delivery of flavor.

12 oz.

Pours a deep hazy amber orange with two inches off fluffy off-white head. Good retention.

Apples, buttered bread, bananas, cloves, brown sugar and cinnamon in the nose.

Tastes of spiced apples and molasses over slightly dry hop bitterness and oak notes.

Full body with mild tingly carbonation on the tongue. Some boozey warmth.

Really nice BIPA, kind of quad-like but with a nice tinge of hoppiness. Goes down easy enough for its strength. Would seek this out again.

Really rich and tangy concoction. I like the mix of flavors and hops. It works out to a malty brew with a nice dose of hops. Beautiful golden amber in the glass. Sudsy with a fine carbonation.

There is a resiny flavor that lurks around the edges of the flowery hops. The complexity and weight of the malt is what makes this so good. Well balanced with a serious amount of hops, but restrained biterness. Excellent mouthfeel with the tangy suds and an aromatic burst in every sip. To my taste, it's what an IPA should be.

From the 12 oz bottle purchased at Food and Friends in Philadelphia.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a pint glass.
A- Deep Golden/ Light Amber nearly brown. Has a thin head for the style that pretty much amounts to a lacing over the top of the beer . Slightly hazey with ample light penetration.
S-The smell is fruity and almost smells somewhat of berries. There is a thick Alcholic esteryness to it at the end. Starts off overall sweet. Slight hint of sweet Belgian yeast. Somewhat of a bubblegum scent . Has a lighter scent overall.

T- Strong tasting. Starts off with a bit of a sweetness to it with a hint of spice. Ends with a strong alcoholic bitterness coupled with a slight spicy almost herb-crusted breadyness. Taste’s a bit like candy/bubblegum mid taste. Has a unique bitterness to it that doesn’t necessarily taste like the bitterness from hops. It is more of a defined almost earthy bitterness that is masked well by the sweetness and alcohol taste. Almost a honey like flavor to the start of the beer. Has a very nice and unique hop bite to it.

M- Heavy feeling with medium carbonation. Crisp yet very lingering.

O- A very interesting beer. The alcoholic bitterness that comes with the after taste is somewhat off-putting. Definitely not for me, but I am glad that I tried it. Very unique for it’s style, and it defiantly packs quite a punch. Very hoppy for the style and defiantly non traditional. For what they call a TRIPLE PALE on the site, it’s defiantly weak , but still. I admire furthermore for their creativity in this beer, while not necessarily my favorite, they definitely are on to something here. Definitely something to try if you’re a hop head.

Wow, I wasn't planning on reviewing this, but after simply smelling it, I just had to. Poured into a pint glass, I got a nice 2 fingers of billowing off-white head, very fine and fluffy. Orange-amber body, with a bit of cloudiness to it. Great retention, and tons of thickly coated lacing.

The smell is really just plain interesting. Sour cherry melds with toffee and licorice. Pale malt is nicely represented. A number of spices jump out as well. A little funky, but nicely reeled in. The Belgian comes out over the American and British influences on the nose.

Malty goodness. The taste is much like the nose, but leaning slightly more towards the English side. Caramel dominates, but is wedded with a quirky belgian fruitiness. The hops are subdued, and give this beer a nice, spicy, dry finish. There is also a nice, juicy citrus to the body of the taste. The mouthfeel is medium-light, and if anything, it's just a tad too carbonated. A little more stickiness would go well with the caramel profile.

Not sure if I'd call this a Belgian IPA, but whatever it is, it's a lot of fun. Quite the recipe. I'm impressed.

Fiery orange, hazy with suspended particulates. Good inch of foam that leaves rings of lacing. Smell is muted oranges, banana, caramel, and slightly nutty. Taste is citrus and orange pith hop, nice moderate bitterness which fades, transitioning into banana, spice- cloves, nutty, caramel malt. Body is medium. Mouthfeel is a bit light but holds together. Strong carbonation plays well with the hop bitterness. Finish is mildly bitter, clean. No sweetness. It grows on me as I work through this pour. Hop bitterness is lingering and increases with each sip. Nice interplay of hop bitterness and the English, American and Belgian elements.

Pours a bright amber gold with a half finger of slightly off white head. Lacing is a bit lacking. One of the most complex smelling pales I’ve experienced. Sweet cereal, hay, nice yeast presence. The belgian really goes a long way in this beer. Nice, soft bitterness and that same yeast carries through in the taste. Feel is spot on for the style, nothing too exciting. Overall, an interesting concept, pretty well executed.
