A 500ml bottle with a BB of Aug 2017. Acquired recently from Home Bargains.
A: Poured into a tulip pint glass. A rich amber colour with good clarity and plentiful carbonation. Forms a decent head of frothy white foam that lasts for a minute or so before dissipating.
S: Aroma of grainy malt with hints of stewed leaves, barley sugar, ale yeast, faint hay and a touch of buttery diacetyl in the background. Bland.
T: Tastes of light caramel malt with hints of husky grain, stewed leaves and ale yeast. A mild bitterness upon swallowing, with an acrid undertone revealing itself.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, tingly and dry, with spritzy carbonation and a somewhat watery body. Aftertaste of grain, ale yeast and harsh cooked leaves.
O: Meh - pretty unimpressive. Average looks, while the aroma and flavour are insipid and mildly flawed. So-so body. A dull beer that's a bit rough around the edges. Possibly better on cask but I'd say give it a miss.

a - looks ok. bit of a head that vanishes in 30 seconds. Yellowish colour
s - slightly citrusy, no malt to speak of
t - urgh. offensively inoffensive. so dull I'm going to have to sharpen all my kitchen knives because they've been to close to it
m - thin, dull, lifeless
o - everything wrong with British bitter
bought this and Pirate's Gold in Peckhams in Glasgow. Both hit the sink after half a bottle, and I only drank that much so I could accurately review them here (what a trooper, eh?). Will not buy again.

Oh dear, I have two more beers from this brewery to try (and review). This is the second I've tried and it isn't looking good. I hate knocking the 'small guy' but this isn't a great advert for the brewery.
Well packaged, this 500ml brown bottle has a lovely front label and the rear one gives you the normal information about ingreadiants etc.
It goes down hill very rapidly after that I'm afraid.
Poured into a Veltins Pilsner stemmed tulip glass it looked a dull gold colour with no head from the start, just a small white collar around the glass.
Boring is the word to describe this beer, very little aroma, watery and bland.
I hope the next two brews are a whole lot better than the first two I've had.

Sampled at the Newcastle Arms, Newcastle.
A dirty, golden to light brown beer with a thin head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass.
Smell is fruity with some faint malt notes. The hops are not very abundant, but there is a light English hop smell.
Taste is bitter with faint hoppy notes, my guess is EKG, or English earthy hops. A moderate fruitiness that is just a little estery. Body is quite thin, a little too thin. Aftertaste is light and short.

Appearance: orangey-brown, good clarity, spongey layer of off-white foam, good head retention
Aroma: chocolate cake, almond paste, malt, brown sugar, grass, iron
Flavor: dryish malt backbone with hints of old, weak coffee, perfume, bitter apple, and burnt caramel; finishes dryish with a lingering bitterness
Mouthfeel: medium body, mild carbonation, thinnish texture
Other comments: A bit vapid, thin and non-exciting. Difficult to write a dynamic review about beers like this.

500ml bottle, poured into a nonic pint glass
Pours with a golden amber body. Off white head with good retention, some lacing
Smell, dry and musty in a similar vein to the Cornish Mutiny. Some dms, boiled corn and a little bit of bready malt
Taste, crisp and biscuity. Vegetal flavour once again along with some buttery diaceytl....some hop bitterness on the finish
Pretty poor, not something I'd have again
