Our Star Island Single is an eminently sessionable, Belgian-style pale ale offering a beguiling mix of flavor and refreshment. This medium-bodied golden ale features a slight residual sweetness from Honey Malt and hints of citrus and tropical fruits from the unique Belgian yeast it is fermented with, leaving a crisp dry finish. Enjoy it sociably while you savor good times, tall tales, friendly company & life’s unexpected pleasures.

12 oz brown bottle, capped. Pours out a dark, golden yellow with a slight haze. Very little head at all even with a hard pour. Not many bubbles to speak of.
Smell is very light with nothing much coming through. Maybe a bit of some sugary malt and something a bit sour. Taste picks up a bit with the same sugary malt. A nice dryness is there from beginning to end that offers it's only complexity. There is nothing big though about this beer (and there is nothing wrong with that).
A solid tasting beer just very mild and lacking some complexity. It just leaves you wanting that one last dimension to push it to the top. Drinkability is very high but the 5.8 will eventually catch up to you.

Golden hue with a nice foamy head.
mini bubbles and good lacing.
aroma of grains, yeast and malts.
taste was sweet, grainy with a medium body and carbonation.
A watery finish with some boozy hints despite the low ABV.

L: Pours slightly hazy pale gold under a 1” white foam collar that slowly recedes. S: Light fruit and citrus, palte malt. T: Citrus, slightly sweet start with a dry finish, some light biscuit. F: Medium to medium light body, soft palate. O: This is brewed with spice but there is not a lot of spice character in this beer. Very drinkable.

This is a mild one, for those who enjoy saisons and summery wheats.
I got it on a great sale which made it a bargain. Totally drinkable. Wouldn't seek it out, but I'm glad I grabbed it from the fridge tonight to pair with slightly spicy barbequed shrimp (cooked in butter, Old Bay, Worchestershire sauce, and lemon juice). They played very nicely together.

08/07/13 On tap at Rattle n Hum, NYC. This is one of those beers that is so smooth on the tongue you don't get the benefit of the cold temperature. The glass was cold...there was condensation & all...but the creaminess hushed it all. As for flavor it's just fine. Great finish & actually leaves a hint of the crisp as it fads away. Well done.
