Bottle: Poured a clear dark black color ale with a nice off-white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt notes with some tropical hoppy notes is different and really enticing. Taste is also dominated by some roasted malt with dry bitter notes offset by some of the tropical fruit notes from the hops. Body is about average for style. Great balanced mix between some bitter, tropical and sweet notes.

On-tap at Round Table Pub in Winnipeg. Serving was 16oz in branded room temperature shaker glass.
A- Black, opaque. One to one and a half fingers of off-white head and some nice lacing.
S- Floral and some citrus. Slight roasted malt character.
T- Nicely balanced combination of galaxy hops with grapefruit and roasted chocolate notes. Very Nice.
M- Thinner than it looks. Nice combination of medium to light body and moderate carbonation.
O- Not what I was expecting but a nice surprise. Look forward to trying it again.

Bottle from wordemupg, thanks again Chris. 650ml into a tulip, 60 IBUs.
Almost completely black in colour, with a tan head. Dense retention and quite thick in terms of lacing. Nose has dark chocolate, roast, burnt toast/smoke all layered over sweet hop notes, citrusy, earthy and rind-y. Deep roasted and toasted notes on the palate, grapefruit and more citrus underneath. Interesting interplay between the roast/black IPA components and juicy Galaxy hops. Bitterness is moderate, but the roast character lasts for quite some time. A unique black IPA, more burnt/roast character than I'm accustomed to but still provides for a nice and interesting beer.

Thanks to wordemupg for this one.
Poured from a 650ml. bottle.
Appearance: An intense brown body that is impervious to light and has lots of foam but not too much. Sticky lacing between glass and beer and it coats everywhere. Simply perfect looking.
Smell: Fresh citrus, orange and pink grapefruit. Aroma is one-sided but doesn't let up and is quite pleasing.
Taste: Sweet grapefruit and citrus rinds. It's pretty much all about the fresh bitter-sweet fruit and the roasted flavor is minimal. Would have liked more of it but it's still tasty.
Mouthfeel: Strong carbonation which leaves me a bit gassy but it doesn't quite put me over the edge. If there was a 3.25, it would be that.
Overall: Flavor is a one-way street but it's a good one. If the carbonation was lower, this would have been a solid hit. Still, i liked it and would try it again (though a bomber is a bit much).
