Bottle from kjyost, thanks Ken! 650ml into a tulip. 55 IBUs.

Browned orange with a cream coloured head. Light lacing and mild retention. Nose of sweet caramel, sweet BBQ/campfire-like smoke and some toasty breads. Taste is bready, doughy, smokey sweetness and a hint of apple. Medium full feel. Low carbonation but smooth in texture. Nice sweeter rauchbier.

Pours a light amber. Spotty lacings, thin film.

Campfire nose, a bit hammy.

Pork-factor is amped up in the mouth. Big bacon taste. Settles a bit to a smokey-woody flavour. Peak at grainy malt in the finish.

Some bigger malt flavours would be nice, but overall a good take on the style.

A: Pours a clear golden amber with 1.5 fingers worth of creamy off white head. Left a little island of bubbles and a decent amount of lacing.

S: Exactly the smell you get when you smell yourself or someone else after a bonfire. I also get a little bit of charcoaled meat. Could be bacon.

T: Lots of smokiness with charcoaled meat. The smoke/burntness isn’t overwhelming which is perfect so you really enjoy the taste.

M: Light carbonation with a medium body.

O: Another great limited release by Half Pints. If you like smoked beers this is a must try. Actually this is a must try regardless. I’m going to have to pick up some more bottles before they’re all gone.

650 mL bottle acquired at the brewery on the date of release. Poured ~6C into a Sam Adams Perfect Pint, paired with spicy chill & cornbread for dinner. The rest consumed 2 hours later alone.

A: Clear, amber with a light white head that fizzes away with no real lacing.
S: Some vegetal / cooked cabbage hits first, then comes the smoke. Not a blast like most other smoked beers I have had, but a nice subtle smoke, almost bacon-like, with a hint of caramel in the finish.
T: Definitely a balanced beer here. Some nice sweetness that lingers with the smoke, creating an almost meaty bacon again. Very interesting. Not much else going on across the palate that I can recall.
M: Average carbonation with a lingering smoke. No substantial bitterness, although the beer does pair well with the chosen food (and likely would have made a delicious base for the chill too :)
O: Of the limited smoked beers I have had, this one was the most balanced and nuanced, not that that is really saying much... A beer that will pair well with some things, but a beer that I can easily see me reaching around to get others I prefer...
