To admit that the brewers at Half Pints are hopheads is an understatement. This India Pale Ale is unabashedly hoppy, with a grapefruit-like aroma due to a large addition of hops directly to the final tank (a process called “dry hopping”). A firm, toasted malt presence forms the background for all these hops lending balance so it’s not just a one note symphony.

Pours a medium amber color with an off-white head. Subduded aroma of mostly citrus hops. Nice balanced taste with citrus hops and a solid malt backbone. Medium bodied with good carbonation, and a bitter finish. A pretty good beer, I've liked everything I've tried from Half Pints so far.

Clear golden color with a finger of head that quickly settled. Light amount of sticky lacing is left down the glass. Nice aroma of floral and citrus hops with some musty smelling grains. Not a blistering bitter IPA and has a nice malt backbone. Floral, mild citrus, toasted and musty grain, all combine for a respectable IPA. Medium body with a well matched carbonation makes this beer lively without being harsh. A well crafted IPA that is not hiding behind a boatload of hops and bitterness but does not stand out from countless other IPAs.

Bought at the liquor store in Selkirk Manitoba. During annual vacation to cottage on lake winnipeg. VERY pleasantly surprised by this IPA. If this was in my local market (Charlotte NC) this would do very well. It would likely become my go-to IPA. I normally drink ballast point grapefruit sculpin, bells two hearted, and new Belgium Ranger. Little Scrapper is right there with all of them. Not as bitter, and a very nice malt balance. I loved it. I'm getting more tomorrow. Very well done Half Pints Brewing. I hope you can share this IPA at festivals in the USA.
