Imbibed at Gourmet Haus for Kern River tap takeover, 2/11/13.
Pour a ruddy copper, clear, with a finger of white head that laces like a hoppy amber should. The aroma is almost all hops: mostly grapefruit and other citrus with some pine. There is also some crystal malt in there coming across as slightly metallic. Biscuit comes through with a swirl. Taste is very similar to the aroma with it leaning on that metallic copper flavor more heavily. This taste and the pine bitterness mix together well. What this beer lacks in complexity it makes up for in this marriage of flavors working together so well and drinkability. Feel is balanced, finish is slightly dry. This one is flavorful and dangerously drinkable.

Huge thanks to Kevin for the unexpected share!
Clearish pour, darker ruby-amber hue, with a small cap of white head that receded to a small ringlet. Crisp, fresh hops in the nose, citrus zest and pine, with toasty, bready malts easily detectable in the background. A nice fresh citrus profile in the taste, orange and grapefruit, bready malts and caramel underneath. Smooth and creamy, and extremely drinkable; for the amount of hops I got in this, it actually wasn't very bitter at all. Medium body and very sessionable for an 8%ABV brew.

Clear copper color with a tall dense white head from an aggressive pour.
It has quite a hoppy nose on it with generous doses of pine and orange zest. It has a sugary sweetness to it, too.
It has a clean hoppy bite to it with a strong crystal malt backbone. Pine and orange peel flavors with a nice bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with prickly carbonation.
This is an outstanding amber that can hang with the best of them.
