Bought a bottle of this from Harvest Wine & Spirits in West Hartford, CT. Poured into a pilsner glass. Orange-amber semi-cloudy brew with an amazingly thick creamy head that lasted the length of the drink's life, receding into a petri-dish style head at the end. The hoppy, citrusy notes coming off this smell are amazing with a taste that just blew my mind, completely changing my definition of what I thought a pilsner was. The mouthfeel was a bit acidic in the late late aftertaste, but other than that, I can't find a single flaw in this beer. Loved it, loved it, and would absolutely recommend it!

"New" batch just released in 2013.
A: A deep reddish-amber. Enormous fluffy white head. Head fades very slowly, leaving a nice island behind. Moderate splotchy lacing to boot.
S: Nice mellow and dry grapefruit aroma. A bit grassy. Kinda has a sharp, crackery malt aroma to it too. A bit soapy which is odd. Not sure what I'm picking up there.
T: Again, mellow dry grapefruit front. A little grassy - okay quite grassy through the middle and into the finish. The middle has some dry saltine-like malt. There is an overall light soapy aspect to it - not exactly soapy but that's the best word I can use to describe it. Not as bad as the aroma and not exactly unpleasant either. Taste throughout is mellow, smooth and well integrated but has a nice crisp and dry finish too (like a typical good pilsner)
M: Medium bodied, mellow (there's that word again) and smooth.
O: Very interesting beer. Definitely an "americanized" pilsner. Quite hoppy BUT it's not anything approaching your average big name IPA or even APA. It's just hoppy...for a pilsner. The smoothness of flavors and their great integration really sets this beer apart in my opinion. All lot of pilsners are super sharp and crisp, to the point of their detriment sometimes. Great work on this one.

A-- Pours a bright straw color with a hazing reminiscent of a wheat beer. The head is a vey nice three finger rockey white head that retains itself throughout the pour.
S-- Penerally, pilsners leave a bit to want in the aroma department. Unless, you like the smell of wet change. However, this beer provides a much richer aroma than your typical pils. DFH's continual hopping is quite apparent on the nose.
T-- As mentioned above, the hopping of this pils puts it outside of the box. To that end, this is an excellent beer that works very well with spicy food.
M-- The appearance of the beer seems to portray a fuller bodied beer and that is exactly the case. The mouthfeel of this beer is almost as rich as an oatmeal stout that clears as quickly as a traditional pils.
O-- Both my buddy and I were very impressed by this beer. It is unique without trying too hard and good enough to want again.

Tried on tap as part of the Local Taphouse Italian Spectapular.
Pours a golden colour, clear like a lager should be. Off-white head, foamy and good retention. Lovely head; lovely everything.
Smells nutty and fruity with plenty of hops overlying a cereal grain base aroma. Malty, but in a pilsenery sort of way so it's not too heavy or anything. Hops float on the top, nice and US-style tangy aroma hops. could have used more; in an imperial pils I expect hopping to be more aggressive than this.
Taste is very sweet upfront, loads of malt on it from an obviously big grain bill. Some cereal characters, wheat and oat grain coming through, with lots of US hops that kick in midway and manage a very fine job of cleaning up the palate by the end; citric, slightly piney and grassy. A beer of two halves, but both balance each other well.
Bit of booze on the mouthfeel; otherwise fine.
Kind of pedestrian, but fairly pleasant and enjoyable flavours. Maybe a good bridging beer for more extreme flavours.

Picked up a 375ml - never seen it in this size. Dark hazy brown almost looks like a belgian strong along with the same requisite rocky off white cap (dont remember it being this dark). Very nice head that sticks around for the duration. Also to note, this bottle let out a very loud hiss when opened. Nose opens with bright citrus and biscuity malts, alcohol phenols, corn husk and some vegetalness, intriguing for a imp pils. Mouth hits right away with gushing carbonation and brings corn flakes, corn fields (reminds me of frshly tilled land - a bit of greeniness), dry malts and a twinge of hop bitterness - only bitter no flavor from them and finishes with bitter belgian spices. Refreshing and the carbonation does well to wipe away the flavor and nose to prepare you for the next sip. I actually prefer this to the dfh version which seems lighter in color (doesnt matter) does have an almost astrigent alcohol taste. The bdb version seems to be better intergrated and a well made beer regardless of which brewey it comes from.
