On tap at the brewery. According to a chat with a brewer, it's a porter with rye and some smoked malt.
Pours black with a tan head that remains, leaving nice lace on the glass.
Aroma is rich, malty, toffeeish and roasty, with some dark fruits. Maybe a hint of smoke.
Flavor mirrors the aroma, with the smoke coming through more clearly. Finish is malt, coffee, and smoke. Some rye spice is well integrated and adds interest.
Medium body, pretty smooth with just a hint of astringency.
I'm liking this beer. The richness of flavor is satisfying. The rye spice and smoke blend well. It's served a little too cold, and is even better after it warms up.
