Take this Review with the grain of Salt I had sinus infection and limited taste and smell. I tried this in Berlin, in a glass bottle.

300ml keg in Zum Nußbaum, Berlin (€3.80):
Light, clear golden with a tiny bit of lacing. Very clear with corn & light hops on the nose, the taste is bitter with some basic adjuncts & corn but it seems cheap & unbalanced. It's a light-medium body but somehow worse the their flagship beer, definitely one to avoid.

Decided to buy and try a bottle while walking back to the hotel since so many people do that here and this beer specifically is advertised and sponsored everywhere. As expected, it is not very good. Like, it’s beer, but I’m not even sure this should qualify as a German Pils. More like a Euro Pale Lager. Disappointing.

This is the only beer with 4 year old children in the beer glass as their photo! As someone who has reviewed about 5 German pilsners in a night, it looks pretty great. Small bubbles. Aroma, not much happening. It's a perfectly well balanced pilsner. Better than my last one. Different. But not as good as a Raderberger.

May 2015: 330 ml bottle, from CITTI-Markt Flensburg. BB date 02.14. ABV is 5.1%. Clear golden colour, large to moderate white head. Fairly fresh pilsener aroma, despite its age. Grassy and herbal notes. The rather dry flavour is also fairly fresh and well hopped, with a decent bitterness in the finish.

I enjoyed this on several occasions during the crazy Covid years of 2020 and into 2021. Tasting this head to head against the other contenders from Germany's capital, the Berliner Kindl Premium Pils won me over with a richness, with its maltiness paired with noticeable hop character, aroma of grass and herbs, and exceptional drinkability. This beer is relatively cheap, at approx. EUR 0,75 to 1,00 in grocery and beverages stores. Even at the pub this will sell for EUR 2,00 to 3,00, which makes this a steal for American standards. Quality is consistent, as I have tasted several cases of this beer over the past 15 months or so. Old school and just very good!

Poured from a 500ml bottle. It has a bright, clear, golden body with a thick white head. Good lacing. A nice amount of bubbles.
It has a faint aroma of light malts and minerals.
The taste is modest; light malts, little bitterness, maybe a tad try. Light carbonation. A slightly grainy aftertaste.
A smooth, easy drinking pilsner.

It is a typical German pilsner: dry, carbonated and bitter. Quite refreshing and still on the okay side though. The carbonation gets a bit overwhelming as you drink it (sharp and artificial CO2s), I wonder how German beers would be without the excessive carbonation... Maybe only a dry, bitter drink?
