On tap at source.
A - deep auburn with slight off-white head. Low carbonation good lacing.
S - caramel malts, dark fruit maybe apricot dominates aroma. Some light n notes of piny hops.
T - caramel and bitter resin-like hops, followed by crispness and imparted bitterness og rye grain.
M - slight malt domination, very full and rich body. No astringency that could stick out with so much rye.
D - good, but could not drink more than ten oz in front of me. Very rich.

Got a $6 pint at Meet the Brewer Night: Sierra Nevada at Zeitgeist for San Francisco Beer Week. Let me state that a pint gets the job done just fine!
The hue is a nice translucent brown with hints of red. Small off-white head, not much lace.
The stench, pine, floral and citrus with a heap of rye spice! Loving the rye hop combo. Alcohol also noticable.
Pine, grapefruit and rye are quickly followed by boozy heat. Great combo until it warms. The mouth is the same, fine until it warms. Rated it higher because I realized that this brew should have come in an eight ounce serving. I would have had zero complaints if served correctly.
Needs a year or two. That being said, watch out cause if the haves aged kegs next year I bet they'll be fantastic! Great double rye Sierra Nevada!

Served in a snifter at Harry's Hofbrau.
A: No head. Deep, ruddy auburn. Translucent, and gorgeously so.
S: Huge astringent hops. Smells like weed or whole hop cones. Fresh hopped? Pine, tangerine, grapefruit, and bitter resin.
T/M: I love it. Resiny, yes, but interesting, hoppy, and compelling. Good carbonation keeps the mouthfeel spicy and sharp, and the finish is pleasantly bitter. Honestly, this tastes like a slightly less intense Hoptimum with a healthy dose of spicy rye and slightly more sweet. I heartily approve.
O: If you see it, dry it. Dry and bitter, but thoroughly enjoyable. Would have again and again. I hope it's bottled some day.
