On tap at Tony's Darts Away about a month ago...
SN Red wine Barrel Aged Ovila Dubbel
A- tap pour to snifter produces a 1 finger tan head resting on a amber body. Head recedes quick leaving almost no lacing. 3.5
S- awesome smell of red wine, tart cherries, and sweet malt. 4.5
T- similar to the smell the red wine barrel aging provides a tannic and slightly tart cherry taste to the base dubbel. The sweetness and tartness play off each other excellent. 4.5
M- lighter carbonation as expected and
Medium body. 4
O- a wonderful beer. I could drink a lot of this stuff! 4.5

Deep caramel with reddish highlights and moderate cream head.
Slightly medicinal and vinous aroma, with notes of caramel, a hint of must, and belgian yeast.
Vinous, vinegary undertones, with a bit of belgian yeast in the background. Malt is overpowered. Somewhat sweet mid palate, but finishes fairly dry.
Moderate body, with minimal carbonation and slight alcohol warmth.
Could use more malt support. Like the sourness provided by the wine, but maybe the oak mutes the malt too much. Lacking in belgian yeast character.

On tap in Denver at the Cheeky Monk.
Pours a brown-raspberry color with small head.
Big carbonation and mouthfeel.
Aroma of red wine barrel, slight malts, sour fruit.
Flavors of raspberry, dark malts, slight alcohol, red wine, red plum. Overall a big brew, flavorful and rich and a slightly biting tartness.

Pours a dark brown with a muddy red tinge. Quickly fleeting foam cap that literally leaves zero lacing. Overall i dont want to spend too much time with this, the beer had a nice almost sour red wine quality with sour cherry and vinous notes along with wine like tannins. My main problem was this beer had a dry wet cardboard finish almost like a corked bottle of wine. It also had a slight diactyl character to it, not a bg fan of this and hope it was an off bottle.

Imbibed on tap at Wine Affairs on 12/3/12. Reviewed from notes.
Pours a mostly clear ruby red with thick, off white head. I get lots of cherry up front on the nose. Also slight oak, almost like wet cardboard (hard to get). Tart raspberry, slight caramel, cranberry, and some over cooked biscuit. This is really dry, like it makes my lips wrinkle after drinking it. Body is appropriate for the style. Interesting, intriguing, but overreaching a bit.
