12oz bottle. Pours a hazy golden orange with a medium creamy head that retains well and laces the glass.
The aroma is pretty subdued for a DIPA - some sweet grainy biscuit malt and crystal malt and a little floral cascade hops.
The flavor is sweet biscuity malt and a touch of fruit with a good amount of oily harsh bitterness in the finish but not much hop flavor. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation.
Overall, a big disappointment from Sierra Nevada. Very subdued in the nose, with a lot of plain bitterness with no good hop flavor. I've made better DIPAs than this.

Looks like standard double ipa, copper color, almost a full inch of white head on the top. Aroma was a bit of a letdown, the dry hopping just didn't pop on it.
The taste is what SN is so well renowned for. Ample caramel malt base that avoids sweetness, but provides a solid backdrop for a lot of old school hops. Has a lot of the flavors I was hoping to find in the aroma (citrus, tropical fruit). Solid stuff.

2011 vintage, so rating adjusted to current average.
Grapefruit and resin are prevalent, with notes of peach, light caramel malt, and a touch of cardboard oxidation.
Flavor reveals more cardboard throughout, with muted citrus notes of tangerine and grapefruit, reminiscent of sweettarts, leading to a moderately bitter, resiny finish.
Held up well, minus the oxidation notes. Exacerbates the bitterness too much for my liking.
