Reviewed out of a long glass at the goodlife.

Appearance: Orange copper and clear with a 1/2 finger OS head that dissipates quickly.

Smell: I got honey, earthy wood and hint of rye.

Taste: I get a caramel malt profile with a hint of honey sweetness. The rye profile sneak in from the middle to end as a grainy bitterness come through with a mild hop profile. Two dimensional and enjoyable.

Mouthfeel: light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation and rather drying.

Drinkability: I would definitely have this again. I recommend this to those seeking a rye ale which has a malty open and rye finish.

On-tap at Deckard’s American Tavern in Atlanta.

Pours a slightly hazy golden-copper color with a one-finger white head. The head recedes into a wispy layer on top leaving decent lacing.

Smells of slightly grainy pale malts with hints of floral and earthy hops. Also present are slight hints of sweeter malts that can be attributed to the honey.

Tastes more robust than it smells. Mildly dry pale malt flavors kick things off and are joined quickly by earthy hops. Midway through the sip the flavor profile sweetens up a bit with lighter malts. Near the end of the sip slight citrus hops work their way into things, carrying through to a moderately bitter ending.

Mouthfeel is good. It’s got a nice thickness with smooth carbonation.

Drinkability is also good. I didn’t have a problem finishing my glass and could have another.

Overall this seemed to me to be a drier version of the ubiquitous SNPA as the honey served to dry things out more than anything else. Worth a shot but not worth seeking out.

Had on tap at Union Ale House Weymouth--Described as a honey, rye IPA

Appearance: no head, clear, orange-brown in color, minimal carbonation

Smell: big pine hops with some floral hops as well as a bit of honey.

Taste: sweet honey at the start which leads to floral and piney hops and finishes with a hint of rye.

Mouthfeel: sweet start- bitter dry middle--slightly bitter finish, medium body, low carbonation

Drinkability: This one is a sipper. I wish there was more rye to this but the honey sure jumps out. Not a bad beer, but not one I would get a six of either.
