Corked and caged bottle opens with an audible pop. Pours black in color with a dark tanned head. The thick head retains well and leaves lacing all about the glassware. Nose has hops and dark maltiness that is quite roasty and reminescent of coffee and chocolate infused with hops and alcohol. The alcohol is mildly astringent with it most noticeable in the backend. Taste is quite bitter upfront from a mixture of the hops and burnt grain. Hops present themselves with a bit of citrus character. This medium bodied beer is highly carbonated. There is a lingering taste of burnt grains and alcohol left in the mouth which is even more pronounced as the beer warms.

Poured from a corked and caged bottle into a Duvel tulip
A- pours black with a one finger dark brown head. The head is solid and sticks around for a decent bit of time, gorgeous looking beer
S- getting some light char, modest chocolate, solid roast. Not bad, just not overly pronounced
T- nice mix of both sweet and bitter chocolate coming through, with some solid roast and slight char. No heat or booze at all. Overall, pretty tame, but solid
M- pretty big body, very thick. Loving it
O- really solid imperial stout. Doesn't kick you in the face with huge flavors, but just very well-balanced and nice to drink
