This beer poured a jet black color with an exceptional three finger high, medium brown head. The head slowly dissipated into a thick and sticky lace which coated the top of the beer and the glass. The initial smell of the beer was that of light roast and chocolate. The initial taste of the beer was roasted dark chocolate, coffee beans, light alcohol and bready yeast. The brew had a full creamy body with light carbonation.

This beer was perfect for Christmas. It was nice and rich and the flavors were excellent. The flavors were perfectly represented and accompanied by a well suited thick and creamy consistency. I will definately pick up another bottle of this and age it. While I'm at it, I'll pick up the other anniversary bottles. Wonderful job Sierra Nevada.

Poured from a corked and caged bottle into a Duvel tulip

A- pours black with a one finger dark brown head. The head is solid and sticks around for a decent bit of time, gorgeous looking beer

S- getting some light char, modest chocolate, solid roast. Not bad, just not overly pronounced

T- nice mix of both sweet and bitter chocolate coming through, with some solid roast and slight char. No heat or booze at all. Overall, pretty tame, but solid

M- pretty big body, very thick. Loving it

O- really solid imperial stout. Doesn't kick you in the face with huge flavors, but just very well-balanced and nice to drink
