Pours black with an off white head that has very good retention. Very appealing.
The smell is like an earthy, maple syrup note with some very roasty notes.
The taste is much like the aroma but with a hearty bittereness along with some sweet maple syrup and roasty chocolaty flavors. With some faint fruity eshters. Along with some licericy notes blend well with this beer.
And the mouthfeel is huge and sweet. With a longlasting bitterness that's oh so nice.
And very drinkable for such a huge beer. Very nice offering from both brewers.
