Poured into a pint glass.

A: Slightly hazy yellow with giant three-finger, white, frothy, creamy head that lasted several minutes. Pretty good lacing.

S: Wheat, banana, and a hint of spice. Mild.

T: Moderate sweetness and light bitterness. Sweet bananas and slightly tart. Delicious.

M: Medium bodied with fizzy carbonation. Crisp and refreshing.

O: Delicious wheat beer. Refreshing.

Appearance: Pale yellow, slightly orange; cloudy; big frothy white head, long lasting

Smell: Proper Hefeweizen aroma profile: peppery; cloves; banana

Taste: Pretty spot on for the style and what's expected from the smell

Mouthfeel: velvety smooth

Remarks: Glad to finally see an American brewer that knows how to properly brew a wheat beer

Hazy, straw colored, good head retention and better lacing characteristics than some imported hefes. Yeasty, phenolic aroma - well defined but not terribly engaging. Starts out quite chalky, then the other components come out. Clove first, then a bubblegum finish.

Flavor features a light malt backbone with a healthy dose of phenols. A bit lacking in the fruity, estery department - there's a banana note that's all too fleeting. Segues right to a light, crisp, pale malt base. Mouthfeel works well as there's a smooth, silky texture while still being well carbonated.

Hefe fans should keep an eye out for this as it's a solid, traditional interpretation of the style and likely to be fresher than imports on the shelves.

No shit, this beer is ridiculous.

It's as perfect a beer that I've seen on tap.

I could drink a LOT of this, and for once, wish I could.

The smell is to dream
The sight is to die
The feel is to swoon
The taste from on high
Barkeep take care
Pour her slow till she's dry

Truly a beautiful beer. On tap at HOOPS-N-HOPS in Simsbury, CT now.
