Draught into Guinness pint, four finger off-white head.
Cloudy straw gold body!
Smells of wet hops and hemp!
Tastes of pine, resin, wet hops, herbs, cloves, and much more in the finish.
Mouthfeel: Thick and dry
Overall, this is a beer that is very delicious and rewarding. I would not get a six pack though.

This is an oddly dry IPA. The malt presence isn't too strong - I couldn't really detect any sort of sweetness. Hops weren't pungent & and it was noticeably a wet-hopped beer. The hope profile was definitely unique, likely due to the hop selections. All in all I wasn't overly thrilled with it, but it's unique and worth trying.

Pours a clear golden copper small off-white head that has decent retention and leaves some light lacing on the glass. The aroma is earthy hops, some light grapefruit, white wine grape, caramel, and a light dankness. Taste has a bit of sweetness with some caramel, earthiness, a light mineral note, dank hops, and white wine grape. The finish has a decent bitterness to it with a lingering dankness. Medium body. Medium carbonation.

Great beer. Had on tap at Grumpy's Northeast. Asked the bartender what it was as I hadn't heard of it like a champ he offered a sample and it was all over. Had a pint. Floral, complex, dark and bitter, but a great balance. Nice finish. Copper color. Great head. Expected more for the nose but frankly, with the taste who cares?
Highly recommend.

Served on-tap in a 10 oz chalice glass
Appearance – Served a very lightly hazed deep amber-orange color with an off-white/tan head of about one finger. The head had a medium level of retention, fading to give a good amount of lacing.
Smell – A citrus hop aroma was heavy and most prevalent. Mixed with this aroma there was some spice aromas as well as some sweeter aromas of caramel and tropical fruits. While the hop aroma was largely citrus of nature, there were some other lighter hop aromas of a floral and earthy nature as well.
Taste – Throughout the taste there was a good hop flavor base of citrus nature. With the citrus hop base, the taste began a bit on the sweeter side; a malty base with sweeter citrus and some brown sugar and caramel notes. Toward the middle of the taste the sweetness faded a bit, giving way to more hop flavors of an earthy nature. These flavors dried the beer’s taste out a bit and in the end when they were mixed with a floral hop flavor that came to the tongue, created a rather soothing hop flavor on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of this beer was on the creamier side with the carbonation level being on the medium side. Both were fitting for the brew and created a good drinking feel.
Overall –This was a nice beer. While not quite as diverse and robust in the hop flavor as it’s Northern Hemisphere counterpart, it had nice characteristics with a good flavor blend.

At Tylers in Durham. I had high hopes after Northen Hemisphere which was fantastic, but this was a letdown. A big letdown. It doesnt smell like much. Alot of balanc. no real hops to be found. The dominant flavor was bitterness, but thats even a stretch. It just seemed a bit light compared to its northern counterpart.

I've been pursuing this beer for quite a while to knock off the top 100 beers of fame. I just happened to run across this at my local bar as part of a Chouffe event. They listed it as just Harvest, and I was excited to learn that it was Sourthern.
I've never had New Zealand hops to my knowledge. But, they add a lot of complexity to the IPA style. You get peppery, and almost savory quality to the beer. I like how this beer works. It is different from the normal IPA.
I think it is great that a different offering would get such great reviews by other BA's.

A: Copper/amber color you could see through the glass, a nice finger of off white head at the top, and a nice lacing around the glass.
S: Nice citrus notes with slight hint of brown sugar, nice wet hop aroma that was pleasant, very nice smell on this brew, makes me think of spring.
T: Nice mixture of hops and malts, a nice note of citrus with smooth floral notes, a well balanced taste.
M: Medium bodied, high carbonation, smooth.
O: A great brew, I enjoyed this beer thoroughly, had it on tap at the Stirling Hotel in Stirling NJ, Great beer and great food.

On-tap at Papago in Scottsdale, AZ.
A: Light, golden-yellow in color with a fluffy, off-white head.
S: Sweet, sugary malt. Very subtle hops. Marijuana butter?
T: Surprisingly sweet malt up front with an earthy, slightly fruity hop finish. You can immediately discern the difference in hop character between compared to Northern Hemisphere. New Zealand hops have a unique flavor and aroma. Not strong up front but finishes with a sweet, syrupy, almost skunky/marijuana flavor.
M: Medium carbonation gives it a good tingle. Balanced with unique flavors for an IPA.
O: An enjoyable experience of which I would gladly drink again but not seek out. I'm glad I tried it but the flavors become too cloying and there isn't enough to remember this beer by.

Another solid IPA from the Sierra Nevada folks. Nice addition to their special lineup, although it falls a little short compared to the Northern Hemisphere.
Pours a dark golden brown, with a finger of "fizzy" head. Carbonation is light. Hoppy aroma with notes of cherry, sugar and a little spice. Caramel notes as well.
Taste is hoppy, and a little sweet. Not quite as smooth as the Northern or Torpedo. Hops taste almost sour. Sugary finish and a little bitter.
Worth a try, but I'd rather down the Northern, Estate, Celebration and the Torpedo over this. But again, not bad.

Enjoyed on-tap @ the International Tap House in Soulard (St. Louis), MO for $6. Tapped from the Handle that is hard to read but HARVEST is at large & the Sierra Nevada symbol is above it into a 16oz Pint Glass.
Aroma- Very nice citrus and floral aroma from the beginning. Has this newly "wet hopped" aroma that I'm still getting used to. Does have almost a dry hopped aroma or one very similar to an APA. Might be a pattern with this Wet Hop IPA style.
Appearance- Received with a 1.5 finger head that has average retention. Has a reddish copper/dark amber colored body that has good clarity. Leaves rings of thick lacing behind.
Flavor- Has a VERY fresh hop flavor that is more light-medium then other IPA's. Clean and nice citrus flavors hit the mouth after this. Can tell there is a good amount of malt used because of sweetness also. Has a dryer finish than usual and I don't mind one bit.
Mouthfeel- Medium Bodied, Medium-High Carbonation, Smooth, and then has a very awesome hop finish but has this dry characteristic that is very positive! Haven't had this type of hop presence ever!
Overall Impression- A very nice brew from Sierra Nevada! The only other Wet Hopped IPA I've had was Founder's Harvest and this one rivals it! I knew this one would be awesome because of Sierra Nevada's reputation with their hops used in all of their brews.

From 08/20/11 notes/ Had on tap at the Iron Horse in Washington, DC. I've had this one many times, finally reviewing it.
a - Pours an amber color with one inch of off white head and moderate carbonation evident.
s - Smells of citrus hops, pine hops, and fruity malts. Some definite fruit and lots of hops; very nice.
t - Tastes of pine and citrus hops, honey, fruity malts, and bready malts. Not quite as much hops as the nose and more malts, but still nice.
m - Medium body and moderate carbonation. Smooth and pretty easy to drink.
o - Overall a really solid IPA. I've bought bottles of this many times and will continue to do so. I also think it's a great beginner IPA as I've had a lot of non-craft beer drinkers really enjoy this one. Will certainly have it again.

A - A dark reddish amber with a few bubbles and a creamy white head that stays around for while, great lacing as well.
S - Smells of pine and some citrus, like a strong IPA, I can't smell any malts through the hops.
T - Starts out a bit citrusy (grapefruit) then goes to pine and leaves a nice bitterness in your mouth that reminds you of being outside with a bunch of pine trees and flowers.
M - Medium bodied with light carbonation, coats the mouth and sticks, it's also nice when you get a bit of that creamy head.
O - A very good beer, I would recommend it to anyone who likes IPAs.

Enjoyed on tap at My Place in Newtown, CT this IPA just made my day. A deep copper color with light yellow-orange edges and a honorable light brownish head that holds pretty well. Lacing is solid throughout. The aroma tells you this will meet all your IPA needs with those lovable pine/floral hop combinations and maybe a wheaty overtone to take the sweetness out of it. The flavor marries well to the lead of the aroma, a bright citrus hop mellowed by edible pine and some trace hints of pumpkin I think, though that may be a stretch. This stuff is solidly mid-bodied with a effervescent feel that quenches supremely, goes down way to easily and delivers a nice dose of hop goodness. A classic, highly drinkable west coaster!

Served on-tap in a tulip. Clear amber body with a one-finger off white head. Good rings of lacing along the glass.
Light hoppy aroma featuring a little grassy pine and a little citrus. Slight maltiness in the background.
Good hop bitterness in the flavor combined with a solid malt bill. A little more pine in the flavor than in the aroma. Overall, a very tasty IPA flavor mix.
Light to medium mouthfeel. Very drinkable. A very good brew.

Enjoyed in tap @ the Geneva Ale House.
Pours a clear, brown tinted gold with less than a finger of frothy white head. Walls of lacing cling. The nose is pleasant. Some earhty hops and bready malt are hinting me towards a bitter tasting beer. Sure enough, big time crisp hop offerings akin to bitter grapefruit, maybe even some rind. Alcohol is tasted after the hops and is followed by a bready/sweet malt that balances this beer out nicely. Because of the intense bitterness, the mouthfeel is sharp and prickly at first and then smooths out at the end, creating a great finish. Overall, a great head-butt of bitter and sweet creates a damn tasty balance that I'm loving right now!

On tap at Winking Lizard.
I always look forward to these beers throughout the year.
Arrived in a pint glass with a short white head that dissipated quickly. A glowing bronze color with excellent clarity. Left very nice swaths of lace.
Smells rather mild-mannered. Light pine and caramel malts.
The taste is really where this beer shines. Very fresh hops lend lots of herbal funk and zesty character to bitter pine. This is the type of beer SN is best at brewing.
Nice even mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Lingering bitterness is balanced with a clean finish.
Overall this beer is always a pleaser, and a decent value too.

Churchill's Pub & Grille

A deep, glowing, beautiful amber with golden highlights near the edges. Thick, frothy, off-white head that lasts. Incredible lacing down the glass. A real looker!
Not particularly aromatic and actually relatively malt-centric aroma. I smell crystal and caramel malts predominately, followed by pungent and citrus hops, but the malts are certainly front and center here...
...though that all changes with the flavor! This is hop-centric! And so, so delicious! Rich, creamy, bitter, pungent, citrus, piney hops! Oh my so good! Along with the perfect hop flavor is an incredibly balance of bready and caramel malts; it all comes together remarkably well! Spectacular!
Rich, creamy, thick, luscious mouthfeel! Sierra Nevada does this as good as anyone!
Incredible IPA!

A - Amber pour with strong carbonation. Beautiful lacing as I drink it down.
S - Piney and herbal hop character blend splendidly with malt complexity, which is more bready and toasty than sweet.
T - Again, magnificent complexity. Piney and herbal hop character, along with a wonderful grape-like quality, opens with a punch. Bitterness is apparent but not overpowering. This is balanced flawlessly with wonderful sweet, toasty malts. Wonderfully crisp finish.
M - Fuller body, but still nice and crisp on the palate.
O - Every so often, you find that hoppy beer that truly has the "perfect balance" between malts and hop that is so often spoken of but rarely encountered. Another fantastic offering from Sierra.

The colour is brown-gold, the liquid clear. The two finger head is warm white. Lots of lacing.
The smell is loaded with fresh hops, ripe fruity-earthy notes and sour exotic fruits.
The hops dominates the taste, too. Exotic fruits, robust malt. Some elegant dry earthy notes. Full-bodied flavours. The aftertaste is mellow and fruity with a grand bitterness and a touch of salt.
The carbonation is fresh, but at the same time quite short. The dry liquid is relatively light.
Lots of very fresh hops, but not as much sweet exotic fruits as I had expected.
