Very black with a dark cherry shine on the bottom. Colossal light tan foam. Really good lacing, also
Smells of sweet chocolate with a bitter, maybe even sour, edge.
Wow this thing really melts. Chunky but fizzy, carbonated chocolate to start. Then it just melts into an aura of bitter coffee. Finish is soapy and not thick. Aftertaste is shy and well-mannered - doesn't persist like other stouts, which makes this one of the most accessible of the style. Great landmark stout with the drinkability of a Guinness. If I were to buy a keg of any stout this would be the one.

-Appearance: Black in a pint glass, gray-ish white head. Leaves a scarce lacing but shimmers and dissipates nicely! Fun to look at.

-Smell: sweet malt, a bit nutty

-Taste: a bold malty flavor, semi bitter sweet chocolate and a hit of coffee.

-Feel: Eaaasy, but satisfying. I was going to say I wish it had more body but I resigned that thought, it was great! Smooth but stuck on my tongue like "hey fool, you know you wanna take another sip".

I quite enjoyed this, I would give this to a friend as an introduction stout, easy to drink with a full flavor. Thanks Sierra Nevada.
