Easily the most balanced beer I have ever sampled from Sierra Nevada. Pours a clear caramel/light amber color. Decent sized head that shrinks down to a covering over the top of the glass. Good lacing. Distinctive smell, pleasant, but none of the hops blast I was expecting from an IPA or Sierra Nevada. Very balanced taste with a slight nod towards malt. None of the citrus/pine found in SNPA, SNCA or Bigfoot. The taste is good, mouthfeel a bit light but not watery. Very drinkable. Not a hint of a fairly high ABV. Could drink several of these, especially on a warm day, before realizing it had a kick. I am more of a hops guy, but this is a nice beer, would be a good change of pace after a winter of Celebration Ale and Bigfoot. Also a good beer to introduce the B-M-C crowd to something better.

Beer served in a shaker pint, beer is amber and has a mild haze, nice white head, one finger, some retention, some lacing, moderate carbonation.

Aroma is very hoppy, very piny and earthy.

Beer is medium in body thins out on the end and finishes really bitter, strongly piny, very bitter, way too bitter for an English IPA but a decent beer, it is a shame this is being retired, oh well.
