12 oz. bottle poured into a standard pint glass.

Nice bronze color...fairly clear. HUGE head takes a while to settle down. Lots of thick lacing clinging to the side of the glass. Note: Pour this one gently.

Musty aroma greets you once the head dies down.

Thick malty flavor hits you right away, then followed immediately by a bitter and spicy hop bite. There also a sour and musty (again) flavor lingering in the background. Something is off about this beer...but I can't quite put my finger on it. I guess all the elements just don't seem to meld together into a cohesive flavor.

Mouthfeel is very thick for an IPA. Off flavors make for poor drinkability.

Sierra Nevada is an elite brewery with many wonderful beers. This just isn't one of their better offerings.

Beer served in a shaker pint, beer is amber and has a mild haze, nice white head, one finger, some retention, some lacing, moderate carbonation.

Aroma is very hoppy, very piny and earthy.

Beer is medium in body thins out on the end and finishes really bitter, strongly piny, very bitter, way too bitter for an English IPA but a decent beer, it is a shame this is being retired, oh well.
