And old bottle. Probably from 2013 or thereabouts. very peculiar. One of. The Most unique beers i have ever had. Dark copper brown. Some bubbles. Not much head smells like burnt things. And a caramelized maneur, but in a good way. Tastes somewhat grainy, with a berry or fresh plum or cherry like fruit essence, followed by lemony, non-citrusy tartness, and kind of disappeard with a dlight peppery taste. Feel is somewhat carbed, but low. And one the lemon tartness arrives, it turns to water midpallet and just vanished. Ghosted. Good interesting brew. Shall sesrch again.

Reddish brown color. A bit hazy. Modest head that settles quickly to rim bubbles. Some spots but a clean glass otherwise.
Spicy with heather and lavender aromas. I also get some cinnamon and gingerbread.
Sweet with the aforementioned spices. Think good Christmas ale. Chewy body and the carbonation is muted. The aftertaste is malty with darker (read toasty) flavors. No hop but the spice comes through throughout the tasting.

From BeerAdvocate magazine Issue #65 (June 2012):
LOOK: Tawny amber, off-white lacing
SMELL: Damp earth, roots, mushrooms, herbal, fresh, intense rosemary
TASTE: Lively, creamy, prickly, tart, lemongrass, herbal, tea, pith, bark, earth, brown bread, leaf, dry
Brewed with hand-picked herbs, sweet gale, yarrow and wild rosemary, this unhopped throwback to ancient days is a unique brew today. Some suggest mind altering. We’d have to agree. This is a must-try for those looking to expand their palates and minds beyond the norm; don’t serve too cold. Phish fans, rejoice.
