This bomber caught my eye doing a walkabout at TW. For the price, it jump in my cart by itself, let's give it a whirl. On the uncapping, I get malts and grapefruit. On the pour I need to give it a real beer pour to coax out a head but it is there, barely. On the taste this brew has a great citrus hop flavor but bitterness is really zero. The citrus hops are followed by a shot of malt then a slight bitterness kicks in. This appears hopped early and late but not much in the middle. The mouthfeel is a little thin but the flavor is still refreshing. I don't know about Gale Force IPA, I would say more like Ocean Breezes IPA and even leave off the IPA and make it just Ale. This is disappointing as an IPA but it's not a total loss, I will buy this again because it is a very refreshing beer, especially for hot weather, a good value and at 5.25% AC, a good sessioner. For this I give high drinkability. A premium lawnmower beer of sorts.

An average, pleasant IPA. Poured from a 12 oz bottle, obtained at Total Wine Chesapeake, into a pint glass. Slightly hazy coppery color with a big (hard pour) off white head. Average retention and some lacing. Smell is pretty mild, mostly biscuity malts.
Tastes pretty good. This is a balanced IPA not a hop bomb. THe biscuity/bready malts are front and center. There is some undefined bitterness in the finish. No pine or citrus focus, just some bitterness.
Mouthfeel is a bit watery up front, better as you drink more. Still crisp and refreshing though.
Nothing special, but goes well with food, not a bad beer.

22 oz bomber pours a medium amber with decent but rapidly dissapating head. Aroma is grainy malt, not much in the way of citrus or pine. Taste is sharp malt with a metallic off-flavor, hops are bitter but not particularly flavorful. This one has a nasty aftertaste that unfortunately won't let go of my tongue. Overall very dissapointing. I used to work very close to Scuttlebutt before moving to Texas and always regretted not checking them out (although I was into craftbeer much at the time). Based on this beer I wasn't missing anything...

IPA from the Pacific Northwest, those are phrases you want to hear together. This Washignton based brewery bottles their version in a 22 ounce bottle. Hoppy daze, and on to the beer:
The orangish copper color with yellow hues isn't much of a surprise per style, as is the good head retention and lace. The nose, which is rather malty with a pinch of hops, is a surprise. The doughy sweetness and dry caramel provide the wave for the aroma. There are gentle brushes of hop cones found, but at this point it's smelling more like an APA.
A malt forward IPA. Big and doughy sweetness at the base, caramel, a snap of hops and grapefruit, and a touch of ash make this a tolerable beer. For what it's worth, the hop intensity is a little stronger in the taste than in the nose. It's lighter medium bodied with a slight creaminess, with gentle carbonation. Easy to drink as well.
A decent little beer, but the debate will range whether it's an IPA or APA. My bottle wasn't dated, so who knows who young or old my bottle was.

Orangey amber with quite a nice head, pour after pour. Pleasant sudsy mouthfeel. Modest flowery aroma. Malty and mellow before the hops hit.
Starts with a big hop mouthful, plenty of resiny and piney taste. A little woody, but I wouldn't describe it as astringent. In fact, it seems less sharp than a lot of IPAs. Bitter, but the aftertaste does fade after a while. Not exactly exciting, but certainly quite drinkable in the lighter style of IPA.
I had this years ago at the brewpub and still remember the astounding bitterness of the stuff. So apparently they've toned it down a little. From the 22 oz bottle.
