Poured into a Gulden Draak tulip. Pours a medium golden amber with a fine half finger white head with good retention and massive lacing. Light aroma of Belgian yeast, cloves, sweet malt, slightly buttery. Flavor of caramel malt, cloves, Belgian yeast, light citrus. Finishes with a much lighter flavor with a slightly astringent bitterness from hops and spicing. Medium bodied. A decent American tripel, but somewhat light on the finish and flavor progression.

I bought a bomber of Triple 7 in a bottle store. Poured into a Saxo tulip glass.
Pours a rich gold color, clear with a bit of chill haze, and a creamy white head.
Smell is a soft sweet scent. Pear and melon aromas.
The taste is also typically Belgian, soft sugary fruit flavors, with a mild dry bitter finish.
Mouthfeel is crisp and clean.
Overall not a bad Belgian ale. I'm not much on the style, and I'm sure I have had better, but this is good.

Poured into a chilled glass, has a small head of fine bubbles. Clean aroma. Tastes of spice and subtle candied apricots with pleasant amount of bitters that linger on the tongue. Full body, great mouthfeel. I rarely drink tripels, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one. Well done, sirs!

There are times when you want the high alcohol content (this one is 9%) without getting punched in the taste buds with it. I gave the taste a 4.5 because I have had Tripels with more flavor, but rated the mouthfeel a 5 because it is so smooth and easy. I was pleasantly surprised to really enjoy this beer.

This was an enjoyable beer that was a pleasant surprise. Easy to drink, flavorful and not boring. The flavor didn't disappear after a few sips like some beers tend to do.
A - Reminds me of an unfiltered Hefeweizen--hazy gold with an off-white head.
S - Pleasant smell, like honey and banana.
T - In line with the smell, it's sweet up front with hints of honey and banana. A bit dry in the middle, with subtle spiciness. Finishes smooth leaving a pleasant aftertaste--like a mix of banana and cloves. Not too strong of a flavor, definitely subtle yet sweet and delicious. I could see myself drinking several of these in a session--not too bitter or sweet.
M - Low carbonation, smooth, drinkable
It might not be the best Tripel, but it was still a good drink. Will definitely buy again. It's relatively inexpensive with a high ABV that is well-hidden by its full flavor and drinkability.

P: Slightly hazed copper body with a topping if white thin milky head that fades rather fast and leaves a wet ring around the glass.
S: Starfruit, peaches, apricot preserves, pears, yellow apples, wheat grain, pineapple, artificial syrup flavoring and lime. Has almost a dairy character to it. Dry timidly musty yeast, and weeds. Aroma is dialed down.
T/M: Not like the fruity nose. It has an odd aftertaste of spoiled fruit and bitterness similar to bitting into kale. Butterscotch comes to mind for the weird after math. Artificial banana and an odd spice profile. Body is nice and sticky with a subtle dose of carbonation. Overall taste is off and cheap.
O: Not a fan of this beer but I didn't expect too much for such a cheap tripel offering. Nose is nice and body was well done. Taste is just not appealing.

this was actually a very tasty beer. lots of nice banana notes and a slick mouthfeel.
ratings reflect the fact that it isn't well reflective of a tripel at all. it did not have any of the crispness or spice that i would have expected and the hops seemed a bit heavy handed. as others have said, this seems to lean more toward a belgian-style IPA (and a good one at at that) than a triple.

22 oz. bottle obtained from West Richland WA Wine and Beer, consumed in chalice 9.21.12.
Clear orange/gold body, several small streams of rising carbonation under pure white head, medium dissipation with some lacing. Yeast is pretty prevalent in the nose, dry, malt-driven, a wee bit of floral hops. Taste mirrors the nose, a little bit of curacao orange notes, but the malt bill is so dominant that its hard to pick up on much else, including the floral hop notes. Mouthfeel is just on the light side of medium, decent effervescence. Could have used a bit lighter hand with the malts. Pass

Poured into a Sauternes Glass and allowed to warm up for a minute or two.
A=Moderate gold...not much different than most lagers around here, including the Summerfest from Sierra Nevada I had earlier today.
S=Strong presence of peaches.
T=Cream and floral with standard Belgian proflie; impressed initially, but flavor seemed to not develop. Some citrus (orange) aftertaste. Bitterness at first, but dissipated quickly. Tried to see if I could taste the butterscotch others noted but would describe it more like cream soda. Could not taste the alcohol. Finish had a hint of lemons.
M=Nice body, but a slight film presence noticed about half way through.
O=I don't drink many Belgian style ales; from what I have tried, this seems to be a lighter version of the style, both in body and flavor.

Reviewed from tasting notes.
Pours out a semi-hazy amber color with a fizzling flash head and no real lacing. Smells of medium amounts of Belgian yeast with peppery garnishes and plenty of clove and booze. Tastes of pear and bananas with the same light peppery garnishes as the nose, but gets rather harsh and boozey from the mid-sip onwards. Texture is somewhat thick and syrupy as well due to some undercarbonation. Not the best Belgian-style Tripel I've had, but I do appreciate the effort given.

12oz bottle into my Ithaca glass. It poured orange amber in color with a spotty white lacing scattered around the top of the beer.
The aroma shows some banana and clove like spices coming out of the Belgian yeast. It has a pretty big bready, sweet maltiness to it. A little bit of a citrusy, orange flavor is there as well.
The taste has more of the sweet, bready, candied malts to it up front. The finish is where more of the Belgian yeast starts to add banana and clove spices. It has a little bit of a candied orange like flavors to it as well.
The mouthfeel is medium bodied with carbonation being below average for the style. Overall it was a pretty decent and drinkable beer, but it wasn't one that really stood out in the style. Not a bad American version though.

Poured into oversize wine glass, yellowish ale resembling a lager; fizzy head that quickly disappears leaving a spotty lacing in the glass. My nose reveals a fruity mix of mangoes, bananas and a hint of pineapple. It goes down easy and smooth leaving a sweet aftertaste. I like it! Will be getting several bottles next time...and folks don't forget to support your local brewery DRINK BEER. HOG
