A- It pours a cloudy coffee color with tan flecks of yeast throughout. It sports a huge khaki head. Head retention is excellent, and there are loosely formed rings of lace as I drink. The head has a marshmallow-like consistency.

S- Coffee, caramel, toasty malt, vanilla, with a hint of cocoa.

T- It starts with dark coffee, which comes across a bit smokey, and a hint of caramel. Hints of vanilla cut in at times, eventually leading to a finish with mild citrus notes. The roasty, toasty flavours never fully subside, making for a long finish. I think that I detect a mild astringent hop bitterness in the finish as well.

M- Medium bodied, with gentle carbonation. It has a velvety mouthfeel.

O- pretty damn good. I would buy this again.

22oz bottle into pint glass, gotta get myself something skinnier for these wheaty occasions

It pours a rich molasses brown from the bottle and has a rather short caramel latte head. Smells of black cherry chocolate malt with some interesting esters.There's a little bit of alcohol in the nose. The taste hits with bittersweet toasted malt. Some medium-roast coffee beans and a hint of roasted nuts add a warm feeling. An inkling of hops, perhaps notes of cedar, play in the background almost like a spice rather than a main ingredient. It's not thick or syrupy like many full-bodied, similarly flavored winter beers. The carbonation is light and the aftertaste is subtle, just a bit of ethanol warmth and bittersweetness. Generally a good winter beer but it brings nothing super original to the table.

I wonder if it's a actually lagered–-I think Weizenbocks are supposed to be bottom-fermented(?) It tastes very similar to many Winter Warmers of the west, particularly Pyramid Snow Cap and New Belgium Snow Day. I would mistake for an ale in an instant, and also would not guess that it is a wheat beer did I not know the style. I'm an ale lover, so if it is a lager then good on ya scuttlebutt.

Served from a large bottle into a pint glass. Pours very dark brown with light brown head which is a standard characteristic of most "winter warmer" ales. Had never heard of this brewing company before so was not expecting much, rightly so. Malty, cherry and coffee are the three flavors that come to mind when taking a sip. Slightly sweet. Nothing special about this brew.

A: Dark brown Stout-colored brew. Lighter head.

S: A bit smoky with vanilla notes. Smells rich -- I'm getting some coffee, caramel.

T: Smoky, spicy. I've having trouble pulling any real flavor from this. The carbonation is getting in the way.

M: Light-heavy body. Way too carbonated for me. As soon as the beer hit my tongue it was fizzing. A distraction.

O: Not really feeling this beer. It's almost like a beer soda to me. I will avoid this beer in the future. If I gave it a letter grade, then I would give it a "C".

Pours a dark brown body with a small tan head with decent retention. Aromas are predominantly of chocolate, with a bit of cold coffee and a hint of something being off. The taste is overwhelmingly sour and not enjoyable. Whatever notes of cocoa and spice this beer might possess are completely ruined by the green apple tartness. Reading the reviews below, I see I'm not alone in thinking this is a strange beer, and not in a good way.

Picked up a single at Total Wine in late November for $1.79.

Beer poured a murky brown with a little head that dissapated quickly.

Nose is a hint of citrus and not much else.

Taste is sour with some hints of chocolate malts.

Mouthfeel is thin and not overly smooth.

Overall this is a very strange beer, the sourness of a southern bavarian dunkel weiss is crossed with a chocolate malt backbone. Not recommended.

Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Tons of yeast floatin' about -- understandable given the style although a bit odd that they are suspended so much. A touch of spice and yeast in the nose.

Overall, nice roasted malt flavors with clove and a hint of bubble gum. A bit of carob and raisin lingers. Finish is decent, and carbonation seems enough to keep the flavors from cloying. Has a nice warming quality with the alcohol well-hidden.

Not bad but not great. Decent with meat, perhaps some braised smoked sausages.

A: Coca cola brown with almost no head at all. A thin ring of light brown foam is about it.

S: When I poured this, I started smelling a ton of rye bread. Then, all of a sudden the smell changed and I started to get all kinds of weird stuff. Chocolate, sour dark cherry, tootsie roll and some bubblegum.

T: The taste started almost like a hef and then came a huge smack of black cherry sourness. Finish brings some hints of malt, faint cocoa powder and maybe even a hint of hop resin. Definitely interesting, but the flavors are a little too scattered and disjointed for me to call it good.

Pours from the 12 oz. bottle a cola-like brown color with a 1 1/2 finger light tan head that settles into a medium collar. I can't get a read on what kind of bubble action is going on in the darkness. Aroma is of sweet, dark berries. 1st sip is of dark fruit, but it is much drier than the aroma. Mouthfeel is light and on the watery side. Overall, a rather mediocre beer. Victory Moonglow is my benchmark for weizenbocks, and this isn't close to being in the same league.

12 oz. bottle,

A: Pours a dark brown with a medium off-white head, no lace.

S: Winter spice, cookies, cinnamon, light banana bread.

T: Heavy cinnamon early on with notes of cherries. Christmas cookies for sure, quite tasty.

M: Medium to full-bodied, fairly creamy though with a thin overall body.

O: The spice character is really nice here. Don't count on a weizenbock in the traditional sense. This is a big American style dark wheat beer with some heavy spice flavour. Drink it as a winter beer and you'll like it.

I had never tasted any brews from this brewery before this one. I thought this beer was rather tasty and perfect for the holidays.

A - Cloudy brown with sediment floating around. Small white head.

S - I get lots of spices.

T - A little different for the style but I like it. It has a sweet taste but not too sweet. The alcohol is hidden nicely in this one. A little sour too but I like sours and tarts so I didn't mind.

M - Very nice and smooth and creamy.

O - A tasty beer that I will definitely look for in the future.

12oz bottle poured into a snifter.

A: Dark brown with hints of light coming through on the edges. Half finger light tan head with sub par retention yet still leaves a decent lacing.

S: Coffee. Bubblegum. Some light fruits. Touches of wheat. Toffee. Very different smelling beer, seems complex.

T: Bread, wheat, caramel, cloves, toastiness, toffee, nuttiness, touches of fruit. Alcohol. Pretty complex, but it all just doesn't work that well together. Not bad but not good either.

M: Medium light body. Higher carbonation. A touch crisp and a touch dry.

O: Definitely different from the other couple Weizenbock's I've had. Although this isn't a bad beer, it's definitely not great. Don't be in a hurry to grab one of these off the shelf.

Poured into a pint glass. Reviewed alongside Shiner Holiday Cheer. Not a Weizenbock, but close.

A: Dark brown with particles and a one-finger, tan, creamy/foamy head that lasted a couple of minutes. Some lacing.

S: Dark chocolate and coffee. Just a hint of sweetness.

T: Moderate sweetness and light bitterness. Rich roasted flavor. Coffee and chocolate. Nutty. Finish doesn't seem to linger as long as I would like, but not bad.

M: Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Slightly warm and pretty smooth.

O: Pretty good overall. The alcohol is well hidden in this one. I like the roasted flavor. This isn't as comparable to the Shiner as I had hoped, so I won't compare.

until I found out this is supposed to be a weizen bock, I was really liking this beer. It doesn't say any description on the bottle label except "ale". I guess they must be embarrased by the beer. It doesn't taste like a weizen bock,so I won't repeat all the other reviews listed here. However, if you didn't know what it was SUPPOSED TO BE, I would say it's not a bad drinking beer.It was located with all the seasonal winter brews at the local total wine, not with the bock's. Didn't know exactly what to expect. Not a weizen bock though. But for $1.75 a bottle, I wouldn't expect ayinger.

Poured into a Guinness pint and the brew is a medium dark brown and hazy and has a 1 finger off tan head that clears fairly quickly and leaves a minimal hit and miss light lacing.

The aroma is malted grains with a hint of wheat.

The flavor follows the nose wih the addition of some unpleasant sourness, especially for a Weizenbock.

Not picking up any dark fruit and the malt profile is one dimensional.

Medium mouth feel and carbination makes the sourness stand out more. In my opinion, this is drinkable, but that's about it. A C brew for me.

Pours an almost opaque murky brown with a 1/2 inch khaki head that fades to an oily film. Small dots of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, dark fruit, cocoa, and some cinnamon spice notes. Taste is surprisingly sour (I think there may be an issue going on with this beer). I am getting some malt, sour fruits, and weird spice flavors on the finish. This beer has a higher level of carbonation which makes the sourness somewhat worse. Overall, this is a pretty bad beer and I am pretty sure that I got a bad bottle.

Grabbed this beer as part of a tremendous winter haul from Total Wines. What a disappointment. Served in a Forst beer glass.

Pours dark ruby and brown with nice bright white head that fills a minimum of two fingers. Good first impression. Nose is heavy on sugar with some light sourness that is somewhat inexplicable. I get some wheat and perhaps some citrus in there as well.

Taste is painfully sour, nothing like the weizenbock is meant to be - and certainly not malty as its look would suggest. Drinks very dryly, it covers the mouth completely. Some light citrus, seemingly orange, adds some flavor to this sour beer. Almost as if this went bad - I might even have to grab another one based on the other reviews.

Altogether a heavily disappointing beer, I couldnt even finish the last couple ounces.

Poured into a Dogfish signature snifter.

A- Somewhat heavy pour yields a 1/4 inch thick off-white head that's eventually reduced to an 1/8 inch thick ring around the glass's edge and a snow-cap of foam on the surface. Little to no lacing.

S- Dark, coffee-like malts emanate from the glass. Actually, a lot of coffee and some semisweet chocolate.

T- Heavy, dry and strong on the malt end of the spectrum for a weizenbock. Some sweet wheat character in the back of the intense malt bill. Definitely an original flavor profile. I get a faint wet glass taste when I swish.

M- Once again, dry and a bit thick with medium carbonation.

O- Not a whole lot going on with this one but definitely enjoyable on a cold night in front of the fire.

A: Pours a rather dark, fairly hazy brown. Orange highlights appear when help up to light. The light caramel-colored head is moderately sized, with a reasonably dense, frothy texture. Retention is solid but not outstanding. Some inconsistent lace is deposited onto the glass as it fades.

S: Some definite sweetness - some caramel and toffee for sure. Esters are prominent, with some clove/spice notes and pleasant fruitiness. Herbal/leafy hops are evident but not extreme. Toasted wheat and faint nuttiness are also present.

T: Toasty malt up front, with some slight tanginess from wheat. Some medium caramel/toffee sweetness is noticeable but not overdone. Lightly nutty, with some faint cocoa detectable. Yeast notes provide some mild spicy/clove flavors and a general fruitiness. Light herbal hop flavor and bitterness provides some balance.

M: Medium-firm body. Carbonation is somewhat light, but there's still a slightly drier-than-average finish.

D: A pleasant, enjoyable weizenbock that lacks the complexity of many better options. Surprisingly malty for the style - unusual nutty and cocoa notes seem to overpower the yeasty character a bit more than I would have preferred. Straightforward, but worth a try.

I shared this sample with a fellow beer drinker who isn't very fond of dark beer. We were both impressed with the appearance and smell. It's got an aroma that gives away the rich, malty goodness that lurks within.
The flavor is all about the rich, almost chocolately roasted malt. It really hit the spot for a beer to sit down with after work. My friend was also pleasantly surprised, now he has a dark beer that he can point to and say that he likes. At $3 for a bomber this is a nice little treat and I'll surely have it again.

T- The taste is very malty up front with some spices and a touch of hops the finish. The taste starts out sweet from the malt and finishes dry with a little bit of bitterness to balance out the sweetness.

M- The mouthfeel is between light and medium bodied with a good amount of carbonation.

D- Overall, 10 Degrees Below was enjoyable but not something I would purchase again. Worth a try.

A- Very thin, quickly dissipating white head atop a dark brown bier. Some noticeable effervescence if you look closely. No lacing.

S- Licorice.

T- Very dopplebock-esque. Molasses, licorice. Nice flavor.

M- Pleasant. Slightly syrupy.

D/O- This doesn't taste too bad and the mouthfeel is well-received by my mouth. Unfortunately the appearance seems to be the major downfall of this beer, to me anyways. Glad to have tried it, would have another down the line.

Supposedly an Imperial Weizen bock.

A: Deep amber/copper with an off-white head, some retention & lace.

S: Big bubblegum fruitiness, with some grassy & floral hops. Intriguing but different.

T: Very fruity and hoppy. Lots of bubblegum, banana and mango along with grassy, floral and slightly steelie hopping. Underlying sweet maltiness (caramel, sponge toffee, hints of bread).

M: Moderate body is smooth with a slight residual sweetness.

D: I really liked their Weizen bock, I though the hopping in this just seemed weird.
