Served on tap at the Red House in Renton, Washington.
A: Very dark maroon, almost black. When held to the light you can see a hazy reddish tint. Silky beige head that dissipates quickly as expected.
S: The aroma on this beer is fantastic. Quite tart with some wood smoke. A little coffee or maybe chocolate. A bit of must and some cherry.
T: The flavor is similar to the aroma although a little less fruity. Definitely taste some oak. Not overly sour but definitely quite acidic. You get a slight burn in the throat from the acidity kind of like you would from pickle juice. There is also a little alcohol burn but not too much.
O: The base for this beer definitely features a decent amount of roasted malt. It reminds me of Barrel Aged Bruin from Cascade. I really dig the idea of sours with fruit and roasted malt. A very impressive beer and an uncommon approach that really creates something completely unique and delicious.

A: Poured black with reddish and purple hues leaving a nice white cap(cranberry highlights in the bubbles) with some moderate lacing
S: Tart, stinging, little booze with blackberries and light raspberries. An asston of berries. A nice purple grape wine note as well
T: Immediate tartness with fresh blackberries, raspberries are light with chocolate like backbone. The finish is tart, dry, light stinging booziness
M: Well carbonated with medium bodied, acid and berries are a mainstay
O: Absolutely delicous!

Appearance: The tar black liquid is capped by a modest head that leaves a few dots of lace
Smell: Dark tart berries and dirty dishes
Taste: Fortunately no dirty dish flavors hit the tastebuds as the beer starts with a tart blackberry character; hints of sweetness and coffee creep up, in the middle; the finish is tart berries with nuts and biscotti underneath
Mouthfeel: Medium body with moderate carbonation
Overall: A very interesting sour that has unusual malt and fruit elements; another style-bender
