It's hard to say how to rate a place like this. It's a supermarket, it's in Hawaii, I'm on vacation and am unable to get beers from Hawaiian breweries, this store has the beers I can't get at home, the beers are excellent. They don't have much of a selection besides Hawaiian beers and the BMC crowd. Widmer, Pyramid, some Sierra Nevada and a couple of Rogue bombers and it pretty much sums the whole situation up. Not a terrible place, not a place you could really chat with a beer guy because there is no beer guy here. It's just a store with some decent beers that I cannot get at home. Remember to apply for a discount card here though or a 4pack of Coconut Porter is going to run you about $16!

Fair selection, terrible "non-card" prices. One thing about Maui is that every supermarket requires you to sign up for their card in order to receive pricing that's not asinine.

Breweries available :

Maui (cans)
Kona (bottles/bombers)
Stone (bombers)
Bear Republic (bottles)
Golden Road (cans)
Goose Island (bottles)
Ballast Point (cans)
Modern Times (bombers only)

This place had a great weekend sale and as a result I ended up dropping about $25 in six packs here. $7.99 Golden Road and Maui Brewing.

Bought 30% of my trip here. Sunset Coffee, Get Up Offa That Brown, and Pineapple Palisades.

I went to the Foodlands in both Kihei and Lahaina and was happy with the selection of beers available ( about the same as Safeway and Times) but some pricing was a little high as Maui Brewing was about $13-15 though Times had it for about $11 a six. Good deals though on Gordon Biersch 12 packs from the Winter at $10.99. Look for the seasonal releases from Deschutes and Widmer as they can be good and you also can tell how fresh they are at the time.

The food is top notch including Poke and Sushi made fresh in the store. I picked up a can of Kirin and a box of Poke to take to the beach and had a great time in the sun.

Stayed on Kaanapali beach for my honeymoon, this was the closest store around. They have pretty much all of the Hawaiian beers available which was the purpose of my trip. Not much of a selection otherwise but if you are visiting Hawaii, I would imagine you would be looking for Hawaiian brews anyway.

The thing I loved most about this store is that you could buy a single bottle/can of anything on the store. I have never seen that done before. You could just pull them right out of the six pack. I bought one bottle of every Hawaiian beer that they had for around $1.50/bottle/can.

Overall, it's a grocery store, but if you a looking to sample what beers Hawaii has to offer, go here!

Foodland is one of the major grocery stores on Maui that is pretty good all around. They have a somewhat large selection of liquor: spirits, wine, and then the beer - BMC, major imports, and some craft selections. I saw Deschutes, Anchor, Maui, Mehana, etc. They were all the regular or seasonal selections as well. Prices were average compared to the rest of the island. Service is what you would expect from a grocery store. A good place to check out if you are in the area - just don't expect too much.

Right off of Front Street in the heart of the small town of Lahaina, Hawaii, Foodland is pretty much your everyday grocery store. That is, until you hang a left from the entrance and encounter the rather well-stocked alcohol section. Rows and rows of liquor and wine; I was actually pretty surprised and hopeful that they had a good beer selection too.

What they did have was a few shelves dedicated to Rogue and Chimay bombers, along with some other breweries I've never heard of before like Mendocino. Pretty good Rogue selection (Chocolate Stout, Shakespeare Stout, Honey Porter). There are also a lot of the local breweries represented, particularly Kona and Maui Brewing. The four-pack of Coconut Porter cans from Maui Brewing is pretty expensive though at around $13 a pack. Everything else is reasonably priced. Quality seems to be good as well, with most things dated this year.

A very serviceable selection of brews for a grocery store. The next time I'm in Hawaii for an extended period of time, I'll definitely swing by and pick up some familiar beers as well as some new ones to try out.

Went to this location and two others in Kihei and somewhere else on the north side when I was in Maui a couple weeks ago, best beer selection on the island next to the liquor superstore near the airport and Costco, they had all three Maui Brewing Company six packs and the sampler which had two of each: Big Swell IPA, Bikini Blonde Lager, and of course the Coconut Porter, I believe each six pack of the IPA and blonde was ten bucks and the coconut four packs were nine, the sampler was twelve, both Keokis were ten dollars and some change, there was four of the Mehana six packs whioch were around eleven dollars, Kona Golden Wave, Fire Rock, and Longboard Lager were all nine dollars, and Primo was eight or nine a six pack, they also had all the macros you see here including Budweiser, Coors, and Miller, other beers included Orval, La Fin du Monde, Rogue Dead Guy nad Kells Irish Lager, a few other European beers including Chimay and Stella Artois, rounding out the products was Red Hook Longhammer IPA, some Pyramid and Widmer stuff, and Spaten, service was no different than any other grocery stores but the lines were long and it took a while, prices were fair compared to other spots in the area, place was clean and I have no complaints there, just do not expect something great while you are in Maui, the Maui Brewing Company probably would have been the standout, but it was closed for remodeling when we were over there

I usually don't think of grocery stores in terms of Beerfly, but quality beer is tough to find in Hawaii, but it is there. You just have to look. This grocery store is listed as being on Front Street- it's part of a complex that is on Front street, but if you are looking for it, it is really a block or two inland, off of Wainee' St. (which parallels Front Street). Foodland is a half block from Mr. Wine (see Beerfly); these two these places together make for a decent beer store.

A somewhat upscale quality grocery store- if I lived here, this would be my grocery. Off to the left of the door, in the front of the store, are the beer coolers and wine section. The large open cooler contains the typcial macros, but also decent footage for the "grocery store craft beers"- Sam Adams, Pyramid, Red Hook, Black Butte, Sierra Nevada, etc. six and twelve packs. Also a small selection of bombers- Dead Guy Ale, Chimay , La Fin Du Monde, etc. And several local Hawaiian Craft brews, including Keoki (which I really liked, by the way).

Across from the cooler is a wire rack with about 25-30 craft brew bombers/bottles, including Orval, Unibroue beers, Rogue beers, Spaten/Optimator and other German beers, Chimay, etc. Chained to the rack is a Merchant du Vin beer listing, which I assume means that you can order other beers from this distributor. Overall, a good selection, better than I expected for Hawaii, and better than expected for a grocery store.

I have no idea how well this beer turns over, but everything was clean and they seemed to be keeping it well stocked.

As with everything in Hawaii, it is a bit pricey!
