I want to like this pumpkin beer. I will try throughout the drink. And I have to. It's a bit too much on the nutmeg or cinnamon side. And the color is too yellow to be pretty!

But really, it's a competent spice beer. Maybe I've just had enough of the style already, trying to find that great pumpkin taste I once had and liked (it was actually a test batch that the Crooked River brewmaster made that was never released).

On it's own merits, this is a drinkable beer. Great for watching the first real college football of the year. Now if Purdue could just make a game of it against Notre Dame ...
