Visited June 2011:
The other reviewers have pretty well described the place, so I won't go into that. I visited both during lunch and dinner and noted that the vibe of the place is average at best. It felt like a chain. I tried a few of the beers, but didn't take any notes, but noted that they were average, nothing special that would make me come back for. They only had 6 beers on tap, so not a huge variety of styles. Then there was the food. I had several meals here and not one of them was all that great. I got the fish sandwich one afternoon and the cook must have forgotten about it as it was way overdone. Same with the fries. I could go on, but no real need. Overall, an average place and serves average beers. Visit at your own risk.

Went during lunch today. Place was packed, except the bar which was empty except for me. Had to wait 15 minutes to get served. Ordered the IPA ($4.25). I have a bit of a cold, but I could still tell it was good. The atmosphere is upscale, nice high ceilings, plasma screen TVs, white Xmas lights decorating the walls. I went up front to buy a pint glass which I had to pay for at the bar. After 15 more minutes of waiting with noone asking me if I wanted another beer I just left.
Overall the place looks classy, and the IPA is good, but the lack of service and friendlieness will keep me away. The menu is more expensive than a typical brewpub. All the items were about $2-3 more than what I expected.

The atmosphere was nice. Very clean and a nice looking cigar bar room as well. The beer however was nothing to write home about.
I started with a pint of their Alt. It was wicked sweet and had a hint of rootbeer. While not unpleasant it was definitely a brew to not revisit. I then ordered a burger and fries at their basic menu price of $11.99. It was good however the price was not inline with the quality by any means. Call me picky but at the price it should have been mind blowing good. After consuming my meal I ordered up a pint of their devils peak IPA. It had the same neutral yeast flavor as the alt and seemed to be missing the star of any good IPA...the hops! It was the worst excuse for an IPA I have experienced to date.

Since this place is in the metro Detroit area, it's been on my radar for a while to visit. What a disappointment.
My wife and I went on a Saturday around 530 pm, the place was empty minus a few people around the bar. The cigar bar room at the front of the restaurant and the stale smoke smell was off-putting.
Our server was great and prompt but it was probably because we were her only table. She was aware of what beers were available and what the cask beer was but I was led to believe that was the extent of her beer knowledge.
I got the sampler of 6 beers which included a sample of their house made root beer, more on that later. I also tasted a sample of their IPA on cask. At best, the beer was unimpressive. It all had a similar ending and felt thin in the mouth. The root beer sample was the best of the bunch. Smooth, creamy and velvety.
I got a bbq chicken pizza that was okay but boring. My wife had the burger which was good but WAY overpriced at $12?!! It's not $12 good.
Overall, I guess I can cross this off my list in the brewpubs to visit category. I won't be back. Overpriced menu, subpar beer and poor atmosphere.

Stopped here on business while staying at the hotel next door. It was a Monday night so it was pretty empty and was able to quickly get a seat at the bar. Pretty cool layout one side of the room is pretty much restaurant-style with the bar in front, with the other side of the room seemingly more like a sports bar, with lots of TVs around. Relatively small selection of on-site beer available, maybe only 5 or 6, but two of which were available on the hand pump. I went with the cask-conditioned Coconut Porter (not great, too thin). The place also had a dozen or so bottles available, including some Fullers, Samuel Smith, Duvel, etc. The bartender was attentive and ready to explain what they had on tap. The menu was a mix of bar food with a mix aof entrees. I went with the BBQ Salmon which was pretty good. I sampled a few of the other beers that the bartender offered. Nothing mind-blowing, but still nice to get a fresh beer while on the road. A decent place to get a beer.

Stopped here in early January for dinner with a group of 7-8 people. Ordered the sample platter with 6 beers. Overall the beers were mediocre to OK, kind of thin, but not too bad. The IPA was their best offering in my opinion. Oatmeal stout was second, but this is a seasonal. Last year they had a Belgian-style pale ale, but I couldn't find it this time.
The food was awesome. One of the best filets I've had in a while, absolutely no complaints. Menu includes 4-5 steaks and 3-4 types of fish.
I don't really recommend the beers here, but for dinner not a bad stop.

Copper Canyon is a brewpub located on the service drive of Northwestern Highway, just east of Telegraph Road.
The brewpub is clean and spacious and there are large screen tv's going for sporting events.
The beers are good, solid offerings. They are not highly complex or varied and are of the usual brewpub styles (pale, stout, red, etc.). I've enjoyed some of the beers and found others to be a bit thin and uninspiring.
The menu consists of sandwiches, burgers, appetizers and entree's and is very, reasonably priced.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner and beers before a recent concert. The service was slow and poor. My wife ordered a wrap with avacado and there was none on it. When she asked about it the server said that he knew, but they were out and didnt figure she would notice. He was a very poor server in general. The beer was pretty good. I got the sampler, the beers were average, but I love the experience of dinking brews from various places. My food was great. Overall, the service is the one ding on this place.

I went here a few weeks ago on a business trip. I was a little apprehensive based on the reviews that I had seen here. People at work recommended the place but through discussion felt that they where not really into beer to much but decided to give it a try. The place is very nice on both the exterior and interior. Getting a seat was easy, it was about 5:15 and the place filled in during my dinner. Had a nice selection of brews but the waiter was somewhat of an idiot, kept talking like he new more about beer than anyone else while trying to push shots of liquor on me and the folks I was with. This was the only negative that I could identify. I had the maibock which was very good and then the IPA that was pushed by the same waiter and was nothing but pedestrian at best. For dinner I had the ribs which where very good and had an appetizer of wings that where excellent. Over all I recommend the place, just hope you dont get the same waiter!

my notes from a visit in sept 2011.
atmosphere is nice, sorta feels like a ski lodge inside. it was pretty loud when i visited despite being nearly empty. i really wish the cigar room wasn't located right next to the main entrance because stale cigar is the first thing you smell when walking in.
selection was decent, 7 taps and a full bar with an impressive scotch list. quite a few menu options for food. i went with a philly steak sandwich which was good, but not $12 good. had a buffalo jump stout which was pretty underwhelming and like the food, overpriced given the quality.
server was friendly though absent most of the time.
overall an ok experience, but i doubt i will be returning.
