My wife and I stopped in for dinner and beers before a recent concert. The service was slow and poor. My wife ordered a wrap with avacado and there was none on it. When she asked about it the server said that he knew, but they were out and didnt figure she would notice. He was a very poor server in general. The beer was pretty good. I got the sampler, the beers were average, but I love the experience of dinking brews from various places. My food was great. Overall, the service is the one ding on this place.

I went here a few weeks ago on a business trip. I was a little apprehensive based on the reviews that I had seen here. People at work recommended the place but through discussion felt that they where not really into beer to much but decided to give it a try. The place is very nice on both the exterior and interior. Getting a seat was easy, it was about 5:15 and the place filled in during my dinner. Had a nice selection of brews but the waiter was somewhat of an idiot, kept talking like he new more about beer than anyone else while trying to push shots of liquor on me and the folks I was with. This was the only negative that I could identify. I had the maibock which was very good and then the IPA that was pushed by the same waiter and was nothing but pedestrian at best. For dinner I had the ribs which where very good and had an appetizer of wings that where excellent. Over all I recommend the place, just hope you dont get the same waiter!

Went during lunch today. Place was packed, except the bar which was empty except for me. Had to wait 15 minutes to get served. Ordered the IPA ($4.25). I have a bit of a cold, but I could still tell it was good. The atmosphere is upscale, nice high ceilings, plasma screen TVs, white Xmas lights decorating the walls. I went up front to buy a pint glass which I had to pay for at the bar. After 15 more minutes of waiting with noone asking me if I wanted another beer I just left.
Overall the place looks classy, and the IPA is good, but the lack of service and friendlieness will keep me away. The menu is more expensive than a typical brewpub. All the items were about $2-3 more than what I expected.

I must have passed this place a hundred times before finally stopping in and trying some of the offerings. Located in the Telegraph, M-10, Northwestern Highway traffic zone of hellish construction, it's a bit hidden among a hotel on one side and another restaurant on the other. Upon walking in, smooth Jazz and R&B are quickly noted, along with the aroma of well made imported cigars. Very dark inside, and uniquely decorated with Warhol-type art and many pictures and paintings. The service was pretty good, as the waitress seemed to know about the beers and beer styles, and was quick to notice that I wasn't there for a Miller Lite. She informed me that 2 new Cask Conditioned ales were just tapped that evening and were available. Nice. She even knew the distinction of Cask Conditioned Ales and their qualities. Impressive. The selection of beers was average, something for everyone, from lighter offerings (Northwestern Gold) to darker heavier brews (an Altbier and Stout are regulars on the menu). I didn't try any of the food, but from what I saw there were some lean cuts of steak and well cooked baked potatoes being served all around me. Looked good. Overall, it was a bit pricey, but for what I got, I was satisfied. Worth a stop if you are in the area.

This visit was part of my recent Brewpub Tour of Middle Michigan <grin> We came to Copper Canyon on two separate nights, one because they had some very good food, and the next because I had broken the pint glass I bought the first night.
We found out that they had a stout and an IPA on hand-pull/cask, so we started with these. Both were very smooth as they should be, and very tasty if not a bit lighter than expected. Very good by any measure.A few of the folks tried some of the other offerings, and were satisfied, but not overly impressed. I took a few sips and agreed. It was probably that the cask offerings were so much better!
As for the food, great steaks each night. Side dishes were very good and the service was the same. Nice place if you are doing business in the area and are on an expense account, but not the place I'd come on my own budget. Beer was reasonable, but the food a bit more $$ than I expected. Nice place!
If you are purely into the beers, there are other offerings within 10 miles that will impress. Check the Michigan Brewers Guild site to locate them.

Stopped here in early January for dinner with a group of 7-8 people. Ordered the sample platter with 6 beers. Overall the beers were mediocre to OK, kind of thin, but not too bad. The IPA was their best offering in my opinion. Oatmeal stout was second, but this is a seasonal. Last year they had a Belgian-style pale ale, but I couldn't find it this time.
The food was awesome. One of the best filets I've had in a while, absolutely no complaints. Menu includes 4-5 steaks and 3-4 types of fish.
I don't really recommend the beers here, but for dinner not a bad stop.

Copper Canyon is a brewpub located on the service drive of Northwestern Highway, just east of Telegraph Road.
The brewpub is clean and spacious and there are large screen tv's going for sporting events.
The beers are good, solid offerings. They are not highly complex or varied and are of the usual brewpub styles (pale, stout, red, etc.). I've enjoyed some of the beers and found others to be a bit thin and uninspiring.
The menu consists of sandwiches, burgers, appetizers and entree's and is very, reasonably priced.

Similarly styled to a Royal Oak Brewing or Rochester Mills for those who've been to these other Detroit-area locations. A very Starbucks-like interior makes for a nice, modern atmosphere, and the TVs in virtually every corner made me pleased that I didn't have to miss any of the Michigan game. Two pool tables in back, and one huge TV up front.
Beer selection is pretty average. They have 5 regular offerings, a few rotating taps, and a cask-conditioned ale. They were out of one or two of their brews when I was there, but the ones they did have were all pretty good. Not outstanding but good.
The manager was very polite and made a few beer recommendations before we sat down and came back to check on them later. The waiter was a really pleasant guy who was very knowledgable about the menu.
Not a bad spot. Its only real downside is the pricing. Beer is pretty cheap, but the food is about 10-15% more expensive than it should be on pretty much every item other than perhaps their pizzas.
