Located on the northwest portion of the Garden Ring around the very heart of the city, this location of Pyat Oborotov ("Five Revolutions" - slang for 5% ABV) is very easy to find. Go into an archway from the main street, then up some narrow stairs to enter the restaurant. A room on the right is immediately visible once you enter, with small wooden tables and wooden chairs enough to seat about 40. Go to the left from the door, down a couple of steps past the bathrooms and offices, and you hit the small dark wood and brick bar with no stools on your right and another room filled with boothes and tables on your left, with enough seating for about 60. Both rooms have lots of large windows, providing plenty of natural light during the day. The floor features orangish masonry tile, while the walls are mainly brick and the ceiling light red painted plaster broken by dark wooden beams. The furniture includes dark wooden chairs and and booth benches, plus pale wooden tables. Prints and posters decorate the walls, with no apparent theme. Pop music is on the sound system. The place is about half full on a Friday at 1:00 p.m.
Ten taps, including a mediocre beer brewed just for them. Other offerings are Heineken, Velvet, Krusovice Pale and Dark, Franziskaner, Spaten, Hoegarden and Guinness. The tenth tap features something called Paulaner Maibier (but I could find no reference to this brew on the Paulaner website). We'll just say it is a seasonal. Their own brew, a euro pale lager, was served in a Guinness glass, and was too warm. The Maibier came in an unmarked Helles glass, and was in good shape. The food menu was respectable, and what I had was quite good. The service was prompt, attentive and helpful. I'd been here before, and had opted not to add it to the database. Not sure why, as this is a decent place in a good location, and one of very few places interested enough to offer a seasonal brew..
