12oz bottle, 7.1% ABV, the last part of the mixed pack currently available way the hell up here.

This beer pours a glassy medium golden amber hue, with two fingers of puffy, cushioned off-white head, which leaves some hovering mothership lace around the glass as it fairly slowly sinks away.

It smells of musty citrus rind (grapefruit and oranges left too long in the bottom fridge drawer), bready caramel malt, a bit of pine needle, some soft white onion notes, and spicy leafy, earth hops. The taste is muddled citrus peel, tempered in its bitterness, with a stronger herbal, leafy hoppiness taking center stage a little too quickly, over a weakly sweet pale maltiness, with only the barest hints of caramel and/or toffee, while the high-end ABV (for the style) actually remains well hidden.

The carbonation is pretty understated, though still supportive enough, the body an adequate medium weight, and mostly smooth, with a fading pithiness. It finishes off-dry, the pale malt somehow able to counter the remnants of that big-ass hop bill. Huh.

Bitter? Yes. Hoppy? Sure. Agreeably IPA-ish? Barely. This particular offering is just too musty, as opposed to the crisp edginess one might expect in the circumstances. And then there's that earthy onion character - nope, not really what anyone in their right mind should expect from a true blue Yankee IPA.

Pours a hazy golden orangish color with a half finger of white head.

Smell is grapefruit, pine, lemon and a little honey.

Taste is bitter grapefruit up front, lemon, lime, pine, and finishes bitter and dry.

Mouthfeel is medium light with tangy carnonation.

Good IPA, More bitter then most, no balance here what so ever... If you are looking to have your palate blown off by hop flavor then give this one a try. If you are someone who tends to like balanced IPA you may want to pass on this one.

A- Orangey Copper. Mostly clear. Head is thick and sudsy like a good IPA should be, and dies to a nice lacing around the glass.

S- WOW! Deep hop aroma on this one! Sent is over powering citrus and floral notes, with a slightly pungent alcohol in the background.

T- WOO-WEE! Intense bitterness slams your palate. It has a long lasting finish, making it excellent with food. Tastes are the same as the nose: that "overpowering" citrus and floral notes. This beer is dank! The alcohol is very upfront, but on the way down it doesn't burn. Slight malt flavor, but hardly there.

M- Medium mouthfeel. It does have some weight to it. Fairly carbonated. If you like a hoppy beer, you might find this very drinkable. If you don't, then you may not find it drinkable. it's better with food then alone. It's so hop forward it's not easy to just drink alone.

*Overall, I was not expecting this beer to be so intense. It's a hop head's dream come true. I think the only real downfall was it hit you too hard with hops on first sip and was not balanced enough by malts to smooth it out. Would I drink this again, you bet. Would I go out of my way to find some Peak Organic IPA? Not really. Real nice IPA!

Appearance: It's a hazy honey-orangish looking beer, thinly foamed at the top.

Smell: It has a mild citrus-like aroma.

Taste: It has a nice combination of bitterness and fruitiness, slightly mixed with malt.

Mouthfeel: It feels like a medium-bodied beer, moderately carbonated while also smooth.

Drinkability: Its a fairly delicious beer, easy to drink with or without food, and having a decent after-taste.

Overall: I'd say it's a quality IPA.

Poured into a pint glass. The color is hazy straw. There is a small head but it doesn't last long.

The aroma delivers grassy pine; maybe a hint of onion.

The taste has a nice dose of bitter pine in the start and middle. This drinks quite dry. The finish has some bready yeast flavor that I can't help but associate with Shipyard. Overall, I wouldn't complain about the taste when fresh.

This is quite drinkable; one I'll certainly get again when I know it's fresh (as this one is).

Super crisp drinkable IPA. $10 for a six pack of bottles of an Organic IPA is a steal. This is a daily drinker for me. Love it with homemade Mexican or Thai food.

Nothing fancy about this beer, but it's inarguably a high quality IPA. In a world flooded with IPAs that are too bitter or obviously made in haste to stay en vogue as a craft brewing outfit Peak Organic has put out an honest effort to make an IPA that is easy to drink with organic ingredients.

Highly recomend this IPA.

12oz bottle poured into a tulip. Best by May 2013.

A: Pours an opaque golden orange with a 1 finger dense white head. A decent amount of visible carbonation. Leaves some lacing on the glass.

S: Certainly hops going on here. A piney, mildly fruity and sort of soapy hop characteristic. Fruit comes through as some grapefruit and orange. A sweet malt in the background.

T: Decently hoppy, perhaps a little lackluster for such a strong IPA. Don't get me wrong its bitter but there isnt as much hops as others in this category. Instead however it is a nice earthly floral hop that is very easy drinking.

M: Fairly light bodied, mild carbonation. Body is a tad watery.

Overall love the organic take on a great American style. Has a pure hop taste just could use more backing. A little higher overall as I feel the taste is more than 3.5 but not quite a 4.

S: A good dose of minty, citrusy, piney hops with a little earthiness and bready malts

T: Nicely balanced, with the citrus and piney hops combining with the earthiness and breadiness of the malts. Finishes bitter

M: Medium bodied with moderate-high carbonation. Prickly

O: A nice IPA that has a great balance between hops and malts with a good amount of bitterness. Nothing really too stand-outish though

A - Anorange, bronze color with no clarity. Cloudy, with 1 finger of head, and a slight coating left on top of the brew all the way down. A little bit of lace left on the glass

S - Fruity citrus hops dominate, but not a thrown in your face hop splatter.

T - Bitter up front, grapefruit. Citrus towards the end.

M - Medium bodied, medium carbonation.

O - A lot more bitter than the smell, but this brew gets better by every sip. I did not think highly at first, but by the end I was enjoying this beer.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a 14 oz "pint" glass. Pours a nice cloudy dark straw with a nice froffy white head. Smells of citrus and floral, nice hoppy aroma. Tastes of light malt with some earthy and citrus notes, balanced, yet with a nice bite. Beer is light bodied and goes down very smooth for the amount of bite it has. Overall, a very good beer.

Poured from 12oz bottle into a pint glass. Best by November 2012.

Appearance: medium orange hue with a moderate to heavy haze and a nice, strong effervescence. Head is two fingers of frothy ivory foam. Quite good.

Smell: rich malt aroma with a bit of a dank quality and an earthy, herbal hop character. Perhaps not completely to my taste, but pretty well done.

Taste: again, the dank, rich malt flavor, which is perhaps a bit too muddy for my taste. Hop character is earthy, but less pronounced than in the aroma. Bitterness is relatively high. Not too bad, but not my favorite.

Mouthfeel: medium body with a good level of carbonation and concomitant creaminess. Pretty good, especially for the style.

Overall: this is not a bad beer, per se, and is pretty decent in the field of organic beers. It just doesn't fit well with my palate.

Pours a bright orange with one finger head that fades quickly to a bubbly ring.

Aromatic spice and sweet malt with dry prunes? Tropical fruit and lemon juice.

Tastes of pine sap and lemon juice. Rich malts with sappy bitter. Earthy almost bark like with lemon juice finish and pine resign bitter. peppery!

OK mouth feel with a bit of carbonation mixed with a dry bitter, spicy finish.

A: Golden amber with a thick cream colored head that lingers throughout the duration of the beer.

S: Honey, Hops, Graham crackers and cinnamon. But mostly graham crackers, which is pretty neat.

T: First notes are sweet malt characteristics, with traces of plum, brown sugar and milk chocolate. Secondary notes are of citrus, mostly grapefruit, lemons and clementines. Finish is non dry, with a very ipa style bitterness that doesnt really set in until late in the game.

M: Light for an IPA, like previously mentioned, very sweet, with the hoppy bitterness only coming to the party late. Moderately carbonated and no hint of alcohol ethers at 7.2 abv.

O: Its a slightly sweetened version of an IPA, with an elementary depth and style, but is a good representation of an east coast style IPA, noticed mostly in the way the beer has an under-abundance of the magnum/centenial/cascade style hops and focuses mainly on simcoe and nugget styles. Good brew

Enjoyed in a pint glass

A: pours a wonderful golden honey color that is clear with a small amount of very tiny carbonation bubbles rising to the surface, pours with two fingers of frothy white head with very fine bubbles that linger nicely, dissipates and leaves a pretty decent amount of lacing on the glass
S: great floral and citrus hop notes, grapefruit and also something a little sweeter, quite fresh and tantalizing
T: a delicious american IPA, great hop notes, not outlandishly citrusy but just enough and with a great sweetness to back it up almost like the sweetness of an apple, nice bitter note at the end
M: gentle carbonation tingle, smooth, leaves a pretty decent dryness on the palate
O: a delicious american IPA, really well rounded and highly drinkable, great hop notes and not overpowering as so many have gone towards lately

Cloudy orange with a frothy beige head. Long lasting retention with great staying power. A fine looking IPA.

Smells like earthy tobacco hops with a mild citrus twang. Tastes about the same. More resin than bitterness which you don't see too often but is kinda nice. Crystal sweetness for balance.

Not bad, not good. Another IPA.

Pours a murky honey orange with a 1/2 inch foamy orange-tan head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy rings of lace line the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, and some slight honey aromas. Taste is of citrus fruit, citrus zest, and a slight malt finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness that lingers on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink. Bonus points for being organic too.

Mostly clear copper color. A two-finger head settles into a nice pancake and leaves plenty of lacing. Appearance is nice. There isn’t much aroma to this one: it’s yeasty; cracker malt-forward and a faint grassy/piney note in the background. Slight grapefruit as it warms. The taste is subdued but clean and crisp with an earthy hop bitterness.

The beer looks good and feels good – it tastes and smells relatively bland, against a backdrop of solid NE IPAs.

A - pours an orangish amber with a half of an inch of thick, soft, white head that has decent retention

S - faint bread, citrus, faint alcohol

T - faint bread, citrusy, orange, grapefruit, earthy, piny, mild bitter finish

This is a decent offering from Peak Organic. It has decent flavor and great drinkability. I wouldn't refuse this if offered again.

12oz bottle at Stella's (not a great beer bar, but went with some coworkers)

A- Pours a translucent slightly golden brown. Minimal white head that leaves nice layered lacing around the glass while drinking. About average carbonation.

S- Hops, not as much of a sweet fruit smell, more of a traditional East Coast IPA smell.

T- A decent amount of earthy hops, not too fruity like typical West Coast IPAs, lightly sweet, a little bit of caramel, some malts.

M- Medium bodied, abv very well hidden, average carbonation, smooth, well balanced, goes down easy.

O- In terms of more East Coast IPAs this was a pretty decent offering from Peak Organic. This like all the beers I've tried from Peak is definitely above average for its style, but nothing that stands out. There was a nice balance between the hops and the light caramel sweetness. The abv was very well hidden, I had no idea what abv it was when I was trying it. From the taste it tasted like 5-6%, but I could definitely feel it slightly more. Overall a decent IPA offering. Definitely recommended if you don't have too much too chose from, but nothing to go out of your way to get.

Into a nonic:

A: orange colored body with a small one finger white head dissipated within a minute. It left some light foamy lacing and no rings. There was a fair amount of rising carbonation.

S: pine and the hops with some minor floral tones.

T: bitter through the previously mentioned flavors

M: medium body and the carbonation was felt in my mouth. It left a somewhat dry finish.

O: decent for the style, but nothing to scream about.

S,T. Pretty standard pine resin aroma and flavor over a minimal malt base with only minor floral highlights.

Hops up front, not the sweeter notes, definite pine somewhere down in the middle. Bitterness is mild initially, and lingers in the finish. A bit of malt in the background, but I think there should be a little more to pull the hops a little more into check.

Not really the best IPA I've had that, but not bad at all.

A: A dark golden beer with a slight orange tint to it. My pour yielded a 1/2 finger's worth of slightly off-white head with moderate retention and quite a bit of clingy lacing.

S: Very floral and citrusy nose. Notes of grapefruit and elderflower (at least elderflower liqueur) are prevalent.

T: A malty backbone stands up well to the heavy dose of bitter hops. The taste is very floral, with notes of rose and grapefruit. The finish is oily and bitter, with the hops taste lingering. The only evidence of the alcohol is in the slight warming sensation.

M: Medium body and quite a bit of carbonation. The mouthfeel is oily.

O: A good beer. I think the flavor is a bit muddled, the hops and malts compete quite a bit to leave the palette a little confused. Still, a good favor and a pleasant beer.

Cellar temp bottle poured into a pint glass.

A: Translucent copper orange body with little rising carbonation but a good sized head of light brown bubbles. Good lacing.

S: Big grapefruit hops make up the aroma. There is some earthiness and mustiness mixed in as well.

T: Lots of hops in the flavor profile. Begins grassy, gets piney and ends up oily and bitter. Tastes like there is a fairly high IBU count to this beer, but perhaps it's just because the malts are minor compared to the hops. Either way, I like it.

M: My lips are left slightly sticky, and there is a decent mouthcoat that has bitter flavors.

O: I like this beer a lot; it's probably my favorite beer Peak makes. Too bad it isn't available year-round. I'll have to seek it out again next time spring rolls around.

Tried this after sampling and liking some other Peak Organic brews. Noticed right away that it didn't have much of an aroma, but poured with a nice honey amber color.

The hop level is just right, not too overblown. It isn't as floral or grapefruit-like as a lot of high-alcohol beers. Interestingly, I felt that the flavor seems to disappear from your mouth quickly after each sip. Good thing? Bad thing? Probably depends on whether you like hoppy beers or not. I like them and like the taste to linger.

I would buy it again for sure, but it's not going to make my top 5 IPA's.
