The colour is pale gold (10 ECB), the liquid is clear. The two finger white head is compact; it sinks rather quickly leaving lots of lacing.
The elegant smell is bitter and somewhat hoppy with a nice smooth sweetness. Quite a lot of hay and fresh flowers.
The taste is fresh with English flowery-grassy flavours. Smooth sweetness, hints of apricots and earthy hints of tree leaves. The aftertaste is clean with a growing bitterness and somewhat dry notes of meadow flowers and a touch of lactic cheese. Some apricots in the finish.
The carbonation is mild to medium; the small bubbles fresh and smooth at the same time. The liquid is semi-smooth.
A very refreshing golden ale with nice grassy notes.

S:t Eriks Sommar Ale, ABV: 4.7%.
330 ml bottle, 18.90 SEK at Systembolaget.
A: Pretty colour - deep and golden - but the white head is weak.
S: Fruity and kind of hoppy on the nose. A sweet aroma of tropical fruits, mixed with some citrus peels.
T: Bitter and dry hops. Some sweet hints of apricots and citrus (maybe lemon) - but it lacks something, and the hops takes the upper hand.
M: Rather unbalanced. It feels kind of light, but the hoppy bitterness is pretty high. Dry, somewhat metallic finish.
O: Drinkable, I guess, but I'm not very impressed. There are much more enjoyable (and even cheaper) pale ales at Systembolaget. To me this lacks the taste and balance to be a worthy choice.

A: Pours clear golden with a small uneven soapy white head that sinks to almost no lacings.
S: Rather mild smell, lots of floral hops. But it smells kind of rough and unbalanced. Grass and citric notes. Some faint malt way in the back.
T: Dry and bitter from hops. Malt. Citric notes and green apples.
M: Body is medium as well as carbonation. Aftertaste is long and bitter.
O: Uninspired and uninteresting. The flavours are all over the place - unbalanced.

The beer is clear golden with brass nuances, a white rather small head that leaves little lacing.
The smell is vaguely citric, lemon, fruits, peaches and apples some grass and nettles.
Not very sweet, acidity like oranges, then mostly bitter tones, peel, seeds and nettles.
Medium low carbonation, refreshing, medium low body, a warm coarse bitterness.
Could maybe need some more body, a bit coarse to be a real thirst quencher. But not bad! And a lovely bottle!
