I stopped in here on my way to Vegas a couple weeks back. I circled the parking lot a couple times trying to find the place, their sign was off, and it was night time, but it's right there next to the Stater Bros.

Theres a lot of beer in this place, and its all refrigerated, which is nice. They had a lot of good stuff, most of the beer i had seen in So. Cal before, from reading the previous reviews i was expecting some beers that don't get distribution here. Either they stopped that practice or i'm just blind. Still, they had some beers that i haven't seen anywhere else, the Rogue Malt Liquor, Alpine Willy, and more Lost Abbey beers than i have seen in one place.

The lady at the counter didn't come ask if i need help, which never bothers me, and she was nice upon checkout. I'm assuming i missed the guy responsible for the excellent beer selection at the store, it was late on a Thurs. so i'm not all that surprised.

This place is now a must stop for me on my way to Vegas, or any other time I find myself going down that stretch of the 210.

I happened to be in the Glendora area on a recent business trip. Being from Chicago and having no access to brews from Russian River and Fire Stone Walker, I was on a mission to bring some back with me. I checked the local liquor stores on BeerFly and found good reviews of Lone Hill and the acclaimed "beer man", Stan.

What a great place. I showed up and within minutes Stan came and introduced himself to me and asked if I had any questions. I told him what I was looking for and he hooked me up with RR's Pliny the Elder, Consecration, Blind Pig and FSW's Union Jack IPA. He also brought out some beers from the back for me, including Deschuttes 2009 Abyss and the 2010 Jubel. He had a wide variety on tap, including Goose Island Xmas and BCS, and was hoping to get in some Night Stalker as well. After discussing the growing midwestern beer scene - including the recent opening of the outstanding Revolution Brewing - Dark Lord Day, Founders KBS and a few others, we loaded up my suitcase with high-quality brews and off I went.

Stan was knowledgeable, helpful and very gracious. He made several trips to the back to bring out beers he didn't have room for in the main part of the store and was great to talk with. I highly recommend this place and am envious of all of you who live in SoCal and can frequent this fine establishment more regularly. I look forward to my next trip to SoCal and hoep to bring Stan a few brews he can't get out there.

So finally made the trek out to Glendora to browse the shop. I have been meaning to go, but didn't really have a reason until today. I must say their selection is fantastic. You walk in and all the beer are in the coolers on the right side. Stan (the guy everyone talks about) asked me if I needed help and to feel free to ask if i needed anything. I picked up a few then asked him what he had int he back. I ended up w/ only about 5 or 6 beers but i wasn't looking to spend too much. overall a great time. only thing is that their prices are a little high. but hey i guess you can't get them anywhere else in la so can't complain.

Easy to locate, in a shopping center, with plenty of parking. The outside looks like every other liquor store in southern California, until you go inside.

Walking in, you see a good amount of wine, but no beer in sight. Try checking the coolers, about 12 coolers worth of delicious, quality beer. They have it all, trust me, if you don't see it just ask.

Service was fantastic. You see the name, Stan, mentioned often in Lone Hill reviews, and it's for a reason, this guy IS the guy. He knows his stuff, and is very approachable.

Overall, this place is worth driving to, prepair to spend a good time browsing, and don't forget your Visa, you're going to find some gems.

Holy Crap! That was my first thought walking into this store. Selection is amazing, everything you want, plus a little more. Plus, everything was in a cooler. Excellent selection of new releases and some old ones. A+ alone on beer selection.

And then there was Stan. Stan is the man. A Beerman. He knew everything and more when it came to what i was asking. He had a story just waiting to be told about this beer or that beer. He even went so far as to recommend a really great beer that i thought was unavailable.

Overall, an amazing place. I drove over an hour and a half (with no traffic) just to get here, and i would gladly do it again.

This is THE best beer store I have found in the San Gabriel Valley... maybe even the Los Angeles area. 14 cooler doors worth of good to excellent brews from imports to domestic craft beers... I'm not including the many more coolers with your standard macros.

The selection of craft beers is wide and depp. Just a sample of the offerings include Lost Abbey, Russian River, Bear Republic. Stone, Oskar Blues, Drake's, Avery, Alpine, Bell's, Allagash, Three Floyds, Southern Tier, Dogfish Head, Port, Great Divide, Shipyard, Founder's, Rogue, Marin, Moylans, Ballast Point, Alesmith, Green Flash... and so much more including lots of Belgians and a good selection of imports from the UK, Germany etc. I'm like a kid in a candy store here.

Stan is awesome. Lone Hill is right off route 66. An pretty damn good selection. Awesome if you are looking for some harder to find beers that are not a normal find in So Cal. Good deal of Dogfish Head, Southern Tier, Three Flyods as well as other local rarities. A good selection of sixers. As well as some aged beauties. I have found 07 old stock as well as some vintage stone, 07 old guardian double bastard ect. Above all Stan is great to talk with about beer. The guy knows his stuff and above all else he is a really good guy. Lone Hill will remain a normal haunt for me if not by monthly.

This place had the best selection ever, and more important the beer manager (Stan) knows a great deal of info about beer. The place carries Pliny the Elder on a regular basis. Also, if you do not see a beer you are looking for then ask since there is a chance that he may have it in the hidden stash in the back. The store has a lot of great tripels. They carry Southern Tier (Creme Brule) , drakes, Lost Abbey, and beers from the bruery. All in all, they have eights fridges dedicated to awesome beer that one cannot find. It has a price, but where else can you find gems like this.

This is the place to buy craft beer if your in the Los Angeles area. It's not in LA. It's about 30 miles away in Glendora, but it's definitely worth the drive if that's where you're coming from.

I live in West Hollywood, and have been trying to find a good liquor store since I moved here about a year ago. The only places I can find, surprisingly, are BevMo (chain) locations, or Whole Foods locations (I find this strange: one of the better places to get beer is from a grocery store...?)... There are no small liquor stores that specialize in craft beer. But, Lone Hill is one of them, and it's definitely worth a trek, if willing.

Stan, the "beer guy," as he put it when I called the store before going for the first time, was an amazing help. He knew who I was when I walked in, just from the phone call, and pointed out some of the highlights he had. I highly recommend going when he's working. He's friendly and happy to engage in some healthy beer talk.

The bottle selection is great (mostly singles). And, many you can't get anywhere else out here. And, to top it off, if you ask about specific beers that you want, that aren't available anywhere else, there's a chance he might have it "in the back." It's worth a shot.

Two things are certain: 1. Stan is the man; and 2. Lone Hill is the best liquor store I've been able to find out here, as other reviews, I'm sure, will tell you.

My friend's mom actually told me about this place as she knows that I'm a huge beer nerd.

My first trip here was about a month ago, but I've already made several return trips. Great selection, especially some things that are almost impossible to find here in So Cal (some Russian River, Founders, Southern Tier, and DFH brews to name a few). Also, many Belgians and Trappist beers. A great selection of Lost Abbeys.

The prices are not too bad, considering some of the beers available.

Stan is a very friendly guy, good to talk to and quite helpful.

I'll continue to come here for beer.
