Pint, Golden colour, clear one finger head that was well retained. Malty grassy aroma, typical for Helles/Export. Tasted fairly sweet, some malt, finish slightly grainy. Crisp and refreshing, the high amount of carbonation gave it a coarse edge. Overall quite a well made Lager, not outstanding or nasty, but easy to drink.

A 500ml bottle with a BB date of Aug 2010. It's rather out of date; but I picked it up cheap from a local off-licence. Rear label describes this as a world famous Swiss lager, however it also states that it is brewed by Shepherd Neame in the UK.
Poured into a Guinness pint glass. A clear golden colour with copious carbonation. Topped by a white foamy head that disappears within a minute or so. Weak aroma; a hint of stale malt but little else.
Tastes of watery pale malt. No bitterness or hoppy notes to speak of. A very faint solvent off-flavour in the background (this would probably go unnoticed if there were any other flavours present). Mouthfeel is smooth and slightly tingly, but thin. No real aftertaste.
Incredibly bland and unexciting. This is probably the closest I've come to experiencing fizzy yellow water. The bottle age is probably a contributing factor, but it's hard to imagine that this lager had any flavour to lose. Give it a miss...

Ordered this over the internet (with a load more beers) thinking it was from Switzerland, but it is now brewed by Sheperd Neame!
Brown 330ml bottle, poured into my 'La Chouffe' stemmed tulip shaped glass.
Typical pale golden pilsner/lager look to it, the white head soon left as normal too.
Slight apricot, grapefruit and citrus aroma. There was also some malted biscuits from the bottle in the initial sniff, but that dispersed before the beer had hit the glass.
Nothing special here, dry, refreshing and boring.
I have read elsewhere that they only use Challenger Hops and a yeast culture imported from Switzerland. It is also supposed to be an all malt brew. I couldn't pick up any strong malt content, but there are hints in the taste.
Fairly thin body, a lightwieght export in my view.
Nothing wrong with the beer, ideal for a warm sunny day thirst quencher, but not a classic in any way.
