Milano's is a staple around the University of Dayton, and it definitely gets a lot of the University crowd. I've been several times for lunch, but only recently had the chance to have a meal and a beer for a full review.
Atmosphere: The place is broken up into three sections, a patio, a main dining area, and the bar area. There is also a pizza pickup spot in the back, but no seating there. TVs, noisy, nothing special.
Quality: Beer quality has gotten a lot better in the past 12 months. It was always good, but now you find a lot of rotating American craft on tap from plenty of different brewers. While you won't find any rare beers here, what I have seen on tap tends to be beers that are highly rated on this website. Well recognized foreign imports as well as well recognized US craft brewers.
Service: Service I find is hit or miss. Service is best when the place isn't too busy, but when its busy there are mistakes when they take the order, especially if you want to switch out soup or salad for fries/chips. The beers though are served in proper glasses. Ask for a RIS and it will come in a snifter, as will some of the DIPAs.
Selection: The beer selection is pretty even between styles. I find it nicely balanced between lagers, ales, RIS, DIPA, IPA, and special styles. Again, nothing exotic. Seasonal brews are common here, especially with their Great Lakes rotation.
Food: Simple but tasty. Their pizzas are pretty good, as are the calzones. The tomato basil soup is quite good if you get a chance to try it. Sandwiches are okay. I find them overly bready at times.
Value: Very reasonably priced. Again - since much of their customer base is the University crowd, including students, I've found that the value is pretty good.

Milano's has been here in Dayton for some time. Inside there is a fair sized bar area, and many tables. There were quite a few tvs tuned to several different things. It was busy, so it was a bit loud inside. Our server was new, but he did a pretty good job. The beer selection is not very big, but there are a few solid choices. As far as draft, Goose Island Honkers was the main craft beer. Bottles boasted Hacker-Pschorr Hefe, Brooklyn Brown, Great Lakes Elliot Ness and seasonal (which they were out of), Sierra Nevada Pale, Bell's Pale, Bell's Season (which somehow was Oberon), and New Hollend The Poet. My wife and I were given chilled pint glasses for our beers, but not a big deal, I was just happy for a decent selection. Sandwiches and pizza were very good, they also have a few pasta dishes and calzones. Prices were fair. If you are in the mood for a good sub, and a tasty brew, go here, just don't expect the beer list to overwhelm you. I look at it like this: At least they have given a bit of thought to it!
