This beer is one of a kind! Four different malted barleys combine to create a distinctive, full-bodied beer with a roasted nuttiness, uniquely enhanced by a hint of hazelnuts. Smooth and creamy with the nose of the Willamette hop, this porter is a beer style unto itself.

Had a 20 oz serving at the brewpub before Da Boss and my cruise on 9-1-19.
Beer was served brown with a pretty average head that did not retain long.
Nose has some toasted malts and a light touch of roast.
Taste was nicely balanced between the roasty/toasty malt base, the kiss of hazelnuts, and the hop additions employed by the brewer.
Mouthfeel was medium bodied and pretty smooth.
Overall this beer grew on me as i progressed thru it. It was nicely balanced and had a nice flavor that went well with a nice meal with a beautiful view.

Look: Dark with reddish amber tinges. Thin. Head dissipates quickly.
Smell: Hints of hazelnut which is nice. Maybe a bit of honey. Not alot going on.
Taste: Thin, not a ton going on. Feels like a Natty Ice porter. Drinkable nonetheless which is always good.
Feel: Very thin.
Overall: Underwhelming. 5.5/10.

I had this on tap at Sea Dog in Orlando. I won't go into all the details except to state it is sickeningly sweet. I prefer Stouts and Porters but this was so sweet I asked the woman behind the bar if she poured a glass of something else by mistake. She insisted it was the Hazelnut Porter.

On tap at Sea Dog, Portland, ME. Pours dark brown with off-white head and nice lacing. Aroma is of toasted malt, dark fruit and coffee. Body is full and slightly crisp. Taste is of toasted malt, coffee, chocolate, brown sugar, dark fruit and earthy hops. Finish is long and semi-sweet. Very nice porter.

Appearance: Rich reddish brown, tan cap with little lacing.
Aroma: Surprisingly dim, some roasted malt, bit of coffee and yes, hazelnut, but not much.
Taste: Doesn't quite come together, everything drops off from the remarkable color which promises so much but it's all for show. Elements are there, roast malt, coffee notes, even the nuts but those flavors exist separately and do not meld together. Even the hops stand out but over on the sidelines. Creamy texture mentioned on brewer's site turns out to be just bubbles. Finish is short with a coffeeish nutty aftertaste. The taste isn't bad, it's actually ok, just boring.
Texture: Light and, frankly, a bit thin.
Overall: Was this brewed as a Porter or is it just beer with added color and flavorings? Lacks richness, lacks flavor, lacks body, reminds me of something entered in a local home brew contest.

12-oz bottle into porter/stout glass
A - huge bubbly head of medium tan over a dark mahogany (ruby when backlit) body, high visible carbonation
S - coffee, caramel corn (sweet & buttery), nuts
T - roast coffee notes, caramel sweetness, generic nutty flavor with a hint of hazel, metallic and earthy finish
M- highly-carbonated medium body; unimpressive
O - an ok beer; too light for the style; something out of balance in the flavor department; you'll find lots of superior porters
