Notes:
This beer is retired; no longer brewed.
Fashioned after the famous ales from Burton-On-Trent which took on such bold character after surviving the long, rolling voyage from London to Calcutta in the days of the Empire. This is an amber colored masterpiece in the world of beer styles.

Looked more like a lager than an IPA, but still looked good with a copper orange color, with a good head. Not too foamy, pretty much just right. Good carbonation.
Smells like any IPA out there. Has a slightly crisper taste. Citrus, malt, lots of hops. It has a much better mouthfeel than other IPAs. I think it has a better taste than other IPAs too.
I typically don't go for IPAs, but I'll try this one again. If it ever comes in my beer of the month box again.

I do not know why this is being labeled retired unless I got a really old beer from my Beer of the Month Club... anyway, the beer poured a light amber color with a tan head. Did not look like an IPA. It smelled like an IPA. The taste was not IPA either but more of a heavy lager. It was very unIPA'ish, but I liked it and would buy again of course if it is still available that is.

Pristinely clear amber with a frothy sand colored head. Expires 1/13 so I'm assuming this is pretty fresh.
Smells like..toasted malt with a little sweetness. Hops, hops anyone?
At 6.2% this doesn't have a lot of malty depth. Or hoppy depth for that matter either. I shouldn't have to try too hard, or try at all, to find flavor in an IPA. There's some toasted malt up front with some cloying sweet, wet grass for a finish but this couldn't even pass for a hoppy pale.
Don't know that I've ever met a Sea Dog I liked.

Served in a bottle at Il Mulino (Disney) in Lake Buena Vista, FL.
A: Pours a clear copper in color with some light amounts of visible carbonation. The beer has a finger tall beige head that reduces to a thin film covering the entire surface of the beer, a couple of slightly thicker patches, and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate lacing is observed.
S: There are moderate aromas of caramel malts combined with a slightly more intense hop aroma made up of earthy and floral hops.
T: The beer starts out with a slightly earthy flavor that is then overtaken by light amounts of caramel malt sweetness. Then the earthy and floral hops really take over, a little more aggressively than I expected, and leaves you with a moderate lingering bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Dry in the finish.
O: This beer wsa quite enjoyable and easy to drink but I would not likely think of it as a sessionable beer - slightly too intense in the hoppiness to have more than one of these at a sitting.

There wasn't a date on the side of the bottle.
In a pint glass:
A: tan colored body with a small tan head was a half a finger that died within thirty seconds. No carbonation was seen rising. No lacing or rings were left.
S: bland, some caramel perhaps.
T: bland caramel again with some hops lightly in the background.
M: light and kinda sticky, dull finish
O: I doubt if I ever have this again, as there was barely anything good about this beer.
