The Underground Market is located in Montello, WI. This area has some decent fishing lakes (Buffalo, Montello, Puckaway) a nice river to fly fish & float down (The Mecan) and some decent campgrounds. What the area use to lack, was a place to get good beer.

The Underground fills that void nicely. While not huge by any means, they carry almost the complete line of New Glarus products and offer some well thought out choices from Grays, Sprecher, Sand Creek & Lake Front. In addition, they carry the various offerings from Point & Leines .

The best part is the extensive selection of singles. Most are reasonably priced at $1.49 or less. This is unexpected in this part of Wisconsin.

In addition to the beers, the Underground is also a smoke free deli where you can enjoy any of their beer offerings with your tasty food.

They also offer a nice selection of cheeses, sausages, wine, etc.

While not a destination stop per say, if you find yourself in this part of central Wisconsin, this is well worth a stop. As our family cabin is about a mile away, this place has been a nice stop to refill the beer cooler!
