Atmosphere is dark but homey. A nice tap system with many fine selections as well as some refridgerators stocked full of beer.
The quality of the brews is impeccable. A fortunes worth of belgian liquid gold.
Service is friendly, knowledgable and prompt.
Selection is very decent. Saw some cool vintage stuff.
Food was good. My friend had a burger and seemed to enjoy it, I had some croquettes and enjoyed them.
A good place to drink fine beer. Started to fill up as time went by. I always seem to have a lot of fun every time I visit a Sharp Edge.

First to put my visit into perspective. My friends and I visit a different city each year to watch the NCAA Mens Hockey tournament. My job is to locate the best beer bar in the city, find an affordable place to stay nearby, and then figure out how to make it to the arena for the games when were not sampling great beers.
The Creekhouse fit the bill in spades!
The only thing to add from the many positive reviews was they now have a Prix Fixe 3-course meal for a scant $18. The first night I started with the Wild Boar Meatloaf entre, Buffalo Bites appetizer, and polished it off w/ a chocolate stout w/ my Belgian pudding dessert. All delicious.
We were in town for four days and spent much of it at The Creekhouse.
And one other perk, the "Internet Jukebox" was the best I'd ever experienced. As a an old rocker from the 60's and 70's, the selection of Frank Zappa, the Mothers of Invention, Root Boy Slim. and the Electric Prunes was simply heaven for me and my friends.
The staff, from the waiter/waitresses, bartenders, to the management were all fantastic.

This is one of the best places in Pgh to get a ful line of Belgian brews. They provide a lot of Beglians on tap as well as in the bottole. Inaddition, they offer plenty of non-Belgian beers from the US, Canada, Germany, Ireland...etc. Brooklyn, Victory, Troegs, Penn, Ommegang, Weyerbacher, Southern Tier...etc It is essentially a great place with a tremendous selection. For the whale hunters, you are not going to find those, but you are going to find a huge variety of brews across numerous styles. In other words, it has a fantastic selection, albeit it a tad on the pricier side.
Quality: I have never had a problem with the quality of the brews here. The taps are always clean and the bottled beer is fantastic.
Service: Always friendly and attentive service. The bartenders are quite knowledgable about lots of brews and styles.
I really enjoy going to the Creekhouse for beers. It is a little higher priced than some other venues, but it is certainly worth it for me to hit this place up from time to time.

Sharp Edge is one of my favorite places. Basically a house sitting a creek, the bar has a great atmosphere with a bunch of regulars coming in, talking it up with the bartenders and asking for their suggestions. Tons of taps with an emphasis on Belgians, but there is always something great on tap when it comes to American Craft beer. The bartenders know their stuff and are more than willing to help you make a choice. Food is pretty good, as their burgers and pizzas are pretty tasty. If you aren't careful when you go here, you will spend a crapload of money on beer and food. Their bottle selection is way overpriced and I never have, nor never will purchase any bottles from here. However, this place has some great deals, with half off Belgians everyday during their happy hour, plus half off their craft selection every Wednesday and random food deals at times. Overall, come for the great deals on fantastic beer.

A great place for both food (dining) and beers, especially Belgian beers. There are other places around the city if you're looking for massive on-tap selections (like FatHeads, Smokin' Joes and HopHouse) but for Belgian on-tap this place can't be beat. There's a great selection of fine Belgian beers, both on-tap and bottled.
Dozens of US micro's and craft beers plus more beers from a worldwide selection are offered in bottles. Prices can get a bit high compared to other local venues.
Food- outstanding and a great selection of interesting fare.
Service-- fantastic, attentive and generally very beer-savvy.
Ambience is great, somewhat quaint for dining and the bar is rather nice in its own separate room.
Parking is adequate for the amount of clientele' the building can hold.

Sharp Edge is the best place in Pittsburgh to find Belgium anything. Beer, inspired food, you name it. The atmosphere isn't too bad. There a nice cornered bar with lots of seats and a nice dining area downstairs. The upstairs dining area is also pretty nice and much more expansive than downstairs. There is a back patio which can't be beat in the spring and summer.
The beer selection is quite good, with everything from TONS of Belgium beers to American micro brews. My only qualm is that the prices are a bit high for the draft. And the prices are even more high for the bottles. They really have a serious markup going for their bottled beers. When I saw Nemesis for $12 a bottle, I thought that was a bit ridiculous. But when I saw Southern Tier Mokah for almost $19, I thought it was priced ridiculously high considering I can get that same bottle for $10 at other places.

I realized that I haven't updated my review for a few years and a lot has changed since then. They continue to excell at providing the best selection of beers on tap anywhere in the area (particularly Belgiums) but the biggest improvement the past few years has been the food. It has gone to second-rate to first-class. Everything from pizzas to appetizers to sandwiches to entrees to desserts are now fantastic. I have been here on many occasions over the past couple of years and since they've changed their menu I can't think of one thing I've had to eat that has dissapointed me. Gret beer, great food, great atmosphere. What else can you ask for?
