Pours a hazy yellow color with a tan head. Aromas of a sweet malt. In the taste, a sweet malt dominates a small presence of peet and a small bitter. A bitter, yet full bodied mouthfeel, with a dry malty aftertaste. Malty and sweet, easy to drink, and mellow. Flavors are light, but effective.

I rather enjoyed this beer, despite the mediocre reviews it generally gets. It's about as good as a beer can be without being at all challenging or deep, but neither is it entirely without character.
It's an easy-drinking beer (no, not in a macro-brew sort of "easy drinking"), with flavor that works great on a hot day. It's not heavy, it's not bitter, it's not chewy, you don't have to think at all as you drink it -- you just enjoy it.

A: A nice blonde with slight head and little short-lived lacing. It's a pleasant color, just deep enough to know you're drinking something with ingredients in it.

S: Sweet with a touch of breadiness. A little hop. I want to say there's some citrus which helps give it a slightly sour smell, but it's barely on the edge.

T: See above.

M: Not bad. Enjoyable. But kind of watery. Despite all my description of how it's enjoyable unchallenging, and that's a good thing (in the proper circumstances), I personally like more chewy beers. But, the mouthfeel for this one matched its taste.

Although this isn’t techinically an “Irish” beer, since it is St. Patty’s weekend and there is “Irish” in the title and a presumably Irish dude on the package, I drank this too! Here lies the end of the comparisons between this and anything to do with Irish anything.

Appearance – Pours a medium copper color with no head at all….with no head obviously there is no retention and no lacing. No bubbles, no nothing. Hmmmm. Underwhelming…..

Smell – Very light malts, vanilla, a certain sweetness to the nose can certainly be detected.

Taste – Follows the nose rather closely, although not as pronounced. There really is no “stages” to this drink, as it all comes at the finish. The actual drink itself really doesn’t taste like anything. There is a distinctive vanilla flavoring and creaminess near the finish as well as a super-light hop presence.

Mouthfeel – Watery, but easily drinkable. Almost no carbonation to speak of.

Overall – Not really too great, but there is nothing abominable or awful about it. It’s just so forgettable. I would probably drink it again, although I certainly wouldn’t buy it.

Poured into a shaker pint.

Look: Light copper, honey. Eggshell head with rapid recession. Light lacing.

Aroma: Cereal grains, sweetness, malts.

Taste: Creamy mellow malts and barley, balancing hops in the finish.

Mouthfeel: Creamy, smooth.

Overall: Liked this much more the second time around, very smooth.

Appearance: The body is hazy amber with a bronze hue. The head and lace are more of film than froth.

Smell: As with a lot of their beers it is sort of sour. There are some bread and fruit tones to the nose.

Taste: The flavor is very weak. There is not much to it really. Maybe some berries, malty sweetness and candy tones.

Mouthfeel: Smooth and bit creamy. I would say a light medium.

Overall: I would say this is not another beer I would go out of my way for. If it wasn’t for the price I would say an ok party beer.

I poured a bottle into a mug.

Appearance- Light coppery color with a small head and minimal lacing.

Smell- Almost no smell but I do detect a faint hoppy odor.

Taste- Slightly hoppy with a tiny hint of vanilla.

Mouthfeel- Smooth and crisp with a adequate amount of carbonation.

Overall- Not an outstanding beer but drinkable. I could see myself drinking a few of these on a hot day, but I would prefer something else.

12 oz. bottle tried 11 Sep 2010. Poured in the Sierra Nevada shaker pint.

Small dark beige head. Well carbonated. Cloudy golden brown color. Nutty, astringent, grainy aroma. Some corny sweetness to start, becomes kind of mineral salty. A says 'somewhat broth like'. Aftertaste is a lingering sweetness. Medium body, low alcohol.

Leaves a somewhat unpleasant film in the mouth.
